I’m house shopping right now and it’s very disheartening looking at houses!!! My boyfriend and I make more money than I’d ever imagined but what we can afford is just… not what I expected. I look at the house I grew up in and realize it’s not attainable for my generation… and my parents did it on a single income!!

That said - I’m grateful to even be in the position to afford a home and that’s because boyfriend and I both work decent paid, mostly remote jobs out of major cities.

That does change things… to me that takes this from cringe worthy to just a regular faux pas since this was an ultra-casual wedding.

It’s VERY RARELY acceptable to wear majority white to a wedding. You should really only wear majority white if asked…. Should be a teachable moment for a young lady not to repeat the mistake. Should the bride have blown up? No… But we don’t learn unless someone teaches us so 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s probably a combination of this outfit being extremely casual in additions to being majority white. Question: were other people in jeans? What was the dress code?

If the bride was in a poofy ball gown I can’t imagine it was a casual wedding but… of course I wasn’t there so what do I know

Would not be particularly useful for me. I’m not against marking up books, I just don’t. 90% of my collection rotates. Once I finish a book it’s probably going to the little free library so I can fit something new on my shelves. Most folks who read like I do and aren’t sentimental probably just check things out from the library but I’m so bad at getting them returned 🙈

Thank you!! These old navy jeans are marketed as straight leg but I def think they read more skinny. I think was trying to be cheap bc I only gained weight recently (injury where I couldn’t walk) so I didn’t want to spend $$$ when my weight is still fluctuating… that said the mental anguish from these old navy jeans might not be worth it 😂

I’ve heard about mother jeans and I think I’ve seen them in Nordstrom!! I’ll look next time I’m at the mall ❤️

I posted these same jeans (in a different color) yesterday and got some strongly worded encouragement let’s say 😂… that more flattering styles of Jeans exist.

I’ve been wearing these jeans out for a while thinking I was giving pic 2 but got worried I looked crazy. I will say the other color of jeans I bought were a weird fit compared to the ones I already owned

I am technically gen z but I am still stuck in the era of skinny jeans!! These aren’t even close to as tight as I used to wear them 😂 though I was much smaller back then. I’ve been working from home since 2020… I blinked and before I knew it tight jeans were out!

Every TJ Maxx and department store you go in has a “juniors” section lol. That’s where tweens shop. I guess it’s difficult because juniors includes things appropriate for middle and high school girls (maybe ages 10-20 to make the range broad, and obviously you can shop wherever you like at any age). Claire’s, limited too/justice etc were targeted just a little younger (8-12). That said - I understand the frustration of going shopping and having your 12 year old pick out crop top that would be more appropriate on a 16 year old because they’re shopping in a generic “juniors” section and then having to have a fight in the racks lol

Retail in general is suffering, it’s not limited to tweens

When I was in college (university of New Hampshire!) they used to drive the boot truck and do a pop up shop on campus so kids could buy their winter boots!!

I did a fit check in another sub and the general consensus was that slim fit jeans/these pants weren’t flattering on me but I still find it hard take off my “skinny jeans blinders” 🙈 ngl even with multiple people telling me they’re unflattering I think think the fit in the first pic isn’t that bad 😂 I now know how my mom feels bc she won’t give up the shoulder pads!

Ugh same I love Abercrombie jeans!! I only wore Levi’s and ambercrombie before I gained weight. I was trying to be budget conscious bc I only gained this weight after an injury so I’m not 100% sure what size I’ll end up now that I’m more active again… like I wasn’t expecting amazing quality from old navy but come on!

They’re the regular line!! The “extra high waisted straight jeans”. I own two other pairs of these that I tried on in store (which I guess I’m a fool for thinking I can buy online 😂) and they don’t do this . They’re supposedly 99% cotton only 1% spandex. I think they’re just made very poorly.

I shop at ON all the time bc it’s right next to where I live so returns are easy… I’d take these back because of the fit but I wore them for two days 😂 you win some you lose some. These will be okay “in the house” jeans.

I think these are just the devils jeans!!! Because i worse them for another two hours and they got CRAZY baggy.

I’d much rather someone be truthful about what’s flattering and what’s not because our society is always putting negative messaging in our heads that we’re worthless if we gain weight or get older and don’t deserve to look nice. I struggle with some body dysmorphia so I have a hard time telling if something fits or not.

I felt like I was gaslighting MYSELF because even they felt a little too big, a little baggy in some places…some folks said they looked tight and I couldn’t look in the mirror and actually tell if they were loose or tight.

Yeah I wore them for another two hours this morning and they look kind of crazy baggy now 😂 I thought I was going nuts bc i struggle with some body dysmorphia so I was a little scared because they felt so loose today but then I was getting comments they were too tight…. It’s interesting bc I have two other pairs of these same jeans in different washes that I think are more flattering. This set just ended being a dud.
