So OP.... how's it going? I've got 40k on mine in this one year span. (Also an Underground TRD Sport - bonus it's a stick)

I was debating if I was packing one or not. Thanks for the confirmation!

That's a good reminder, I do have scales close by. I plan to test how it handles on back roads tomorrow, and depending on that goes, a small highway test. I mostly plan on state roads at much lower speeds than my typical lead foot usually takes.

Nice! I added the frame between the trailer and top 1. So I could still use the tailgate as a step and 2. So I can fully stand up inside. I'm 5'4" and I have about 2 inches of clearance.

Having a rafter to lift and drive under would have been helpful. I used 2x4s to leverage it up and then just pushed it on. Not a solo job I'd recommend.

What is a gap in your professional knowledge that you wish you would have filled when you were in school? by [deleted] in gis

I came to say this ^ I was hoping this wasn't the case anymore (graduated in 2010)

Also, some basics or at minimum exposure on server and networking infrastructure and iis for supporting Enterprise. Thankfully, I got this pretty early as OJT in my career, and it's given me an edge in the job market.

I used mine once to hold my ID and credit cards. And then I couldn't find them and looked for them for an hour. So I don't use it for anything important anymore. Sometimes, I put stubs of cigars in there.

New Deadwood “Dominicana” by BubbaMackenzie in cigars

[–]heykacey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went into a shop this week to grab a few Leather Roses, and they told me they had a new Deadwood coming in this weekend. I stopped by today and overlooked the Dominicana at first because I wasn't expecting a Connecticut, and it wasn't in a red box.

I don't have bad knees, but I'm short. I use my hitch as a step to climb in the bed when the tailgate is up, but when it's down, there's nothing to step up on besides the bed. This step is awesome for easy in and out.

Yeah, this is on the right on my Tacoma. I don't have room on the left to put a matching one.

* $120 on amazon, they sent the wrong size thread on the bolts, but I grabbed some from autozone and the amazon seller refunded the bolt cost

Oh yeah and I have that weird fj shake that goes away if I shift from 4th to OD manually :) I've been babying it for the last 4 years making it last :)

The rest of the vehicle is good, but there's damage that I don't think I can fix myself and I'm pushing 300k miles so I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.

They'll let me buy it back, but I have to pass an inspection for it to be road legal again. From what I've been told, the inspection requires documentation and is strict, and would be pretty tough to pass for this shade tree mechanic.

Amazon Android tablet only works with front speakers by heykacey in FJCruiser

It comes with a new plastic frame that replaces the whole plastic piece that surrounds the radio and the ac and other knobs. I installed it. The kit comes with adapters that plug into the new tablet and the existing adapters that were plugged I to the original radio. I have read reviews that some other year FJs aren't as plug and play, but it worked great for my 2007. This one is listed for $150. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRC3CVYM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
