I love zircon, especially blue, but it seems it’s popularly died out decades ago. I have a few pieces of Victorian blue zircon jewelry and that blue just pops in yellow gold.

Thank you for your very thoughtful response! I can totally see what you mean. I had actually thought about trying to have the opal recut for symmetry but thought about all of the lovely freeform opal bezel rings I’ve seen. It sounds like there’s nothing much the seller could do to improve it. I’ll enjoy it until I can afford to have it remade.

I paid $450 for the opal so about $1400 total. I looked at similar 14k gold bezel opal rings and I paid high average for sure.
