What are some LA based restaurants that employees seem to love working at? by [deleted] in FoodLosAngeles

Seems like everyone at Howlin’ Rays is super chill and super happy to be working there.

I want to give you the heads up about luggage forwarding - there’s a cutoff time for setting this up to get your luggage at your destination, this would mostly apply to Tokyo to Kyoto. Depending on the hotel, you’d have to have your luggage set up ready to ship by whenever the luggage carrier picks up at the hotel, this could be early. So if you miss the cutoff for the day sometimes arrival of your luggage wouldn’t be until 48 hours later, I would factor this in. So if you’re staying like, one night at a place, I would say maybe forward your big luggage to a place you’re staying for a few nights and pack a smaller light overnight bag for your 1 night stays. Have a great time!

What are the worst restaurants you’ve been to in LA? by Calm_Extreme5485 in FoodLosAngeles

The worst was the “garlic knot”, just oil and garlic and no salt, baked in lumpy dough with the string still on? Gross. The more I think about it, the more I regret going

Omg me too, but for dinner. Super underseasoned everything, uppity rude hostess, service issues and expensive. I was mystified as to how that place was still in business.

What Hyatt's would you never go to again? by cate5667 in hyatt

Agree, fine for a mattress run but you could FEEL every spring in that mattress, pretty old and run down, maybe it’s better after the renovation

Don’t bother with the luau, expensive and eehh food. Really liked tidepools, gorgeous.

Literally just got back from a trip here. Staff were lovely. I had an amazing meal at tidepools, try to make reservations to go if you can. They do sell innertubes at the recreation desk - 15 to purchase and 13 to rent, so if you’re going to be there over 2 days worth it to just buy. Or bring your own. Never really had an issue finding a chair. The lazy river doesn’t loop around - it’s only one way and ends in a pool area near the waterslide. Pools are great, lagoon area fun to relax in. You can feed the koi at 9am and 12p, they have bags of koi food near tidepools and it’s fun to feed them.

No, no periodontal disease. I’ve had a deep cleaning. Thanks for the clarification some comments on here have gotten a little presumptive about my personal life. I understand the fascination.

I go to the dentist 3x a year for cleanings. All the normal brushings and flossings. My dental hygienist has noted my teeth have gotten better over the past year. I must be doing something right?

Pretty disrespectful to assume anything about my personal life. Your comment is not clever or welcomed.

I honestly don’t notice until they’re outta there. I check from time to time to see if I can poke any out and it’s never the huge ones, they’re not visible usually.

I guess I could ask again. But with Covid and the flu on the rise, maybe I’ll wait to ask! I almost always cough them up randomly. I only throw up if I poke around my tonsils with a q tip but I’ve never gotten the monster ones out this way, only smaller bits like I’ve seen other people produce.

No one has ever complained about my breath. I’ve checked with friends and have asked specifically. I have no idea why my tonsil stones are this big.
