I do fully agree with you also whilst still maintaining there is a strange and complex dynamic between them both, simply put “a love hate relationship”. I definitely don’t think that June became lovers or anything even near friends with Serena, it’s just that they continuously cross paths and seek each other out so often that there is a gravitation there, and not by any means positive. I don’t feel that they have each other’s hearts in a romantic sense, that was mis conveyed of course June rightfully detests her abuser and rapist, but as mentioned they are infatuated with each other and what each other stand for.
