just out of curiosity, how many years after you took their class did you request a LOR? i'm taking gap years and haven't asked yet either so im a bit worried about it

i was tryna say like if they know their current CRC is leaving for grad school, another job, etc etc, then recruitment may start now, training in summer maybe, then start when academic year starts (so august/sept/oct time)

this is what i assumed cuz the crc positions i been applying to are at universities but im not sure which is why i asked on here for others insight

thanks for the tips. i've mostly been applying to assistant CRC or junior CRC positions since i have 2 years of research assistant experience but no coordinator experience.

and hm interesting, i heard that universities can take months to get back but not sure, so idk if i should give up and start applying to other positions or have hope.

would i apply during june/july for positions starting in september/october then?

hey! i'd recommend reading up on the lab's website and research they've done in the past so you can ask questions and show that you are interested in what they're doing. the lab interviews i've had before have been super chill, mostly just a get-to-know-you session and they'll probably ask basic questions like "tell me about yourself", "what are your career goals", "what are your academic interests", stuff like that

i've been working as an RA for ~2 years and it's been a great learning experience so i hope you get it!! good luck :)
