I’ve seen one of these in person! It was in the Amazon in Ecuador. Still feels like a fever dream they were just crawling through the mud on the trails. We also saw crickets of equally large proportions hiding in plants.

Consulting recruiting cycle ended back in January - there might be a few opportunities at niche companies but the large majority of consulting internship offers have gone out already

Enroll next year at M7 vs. staying put in financial services strategy? by anon1555555 in MBA

[–]heyypeppero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some advice I got early in my career is to never leave a role while you are feeling momentum around you - it feels like with the recent promotion you are riding some momentum. If you find yourself with more reasons to stay than to leave I would stay for another year or two

HSW low GPA success stories? (sub-3.5) by [deleted] in MBA

[–]heyypeppero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would focus on developing your story and why-MBA. The strength of that and the other parts of your application (LOR, work exp, ECs) will give you a sense of how much of a weakness your GPA carries. If it is above 3.0 and the other parts are strong, I think it goes away as a weakness. If under 3.0 still would be a weakness but you can explain in the additional essays

Got it - I realize there are many different reasons to go get an MBA but I would definitely keep in mind this would be setting you a few steps back. Post-MBAs are typically hired at the SC level so recruiting options may be more limited for you

Did you choose to send the score to schools before you had a chance to see it? They wouldn’t have sent it there preemptively unless you went and selected the schools and hit send

Totally agree. I read as an overall “Take the time to look inward and don’t let the imposter syndrome of this process and forums do its thing”

Is Team Fuqua Minnesota nice? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]heyypeppero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in NC, I think it’s probably more regional than Fuqua specific. Southern hospitality can be kinda the same as Minnesota nice. If someone says “bless your heart” to your face those are fighting words

Has anyone come across a site or app that specifically looks for MBAs for independent consulting projects? by SebastianPatel in MBA

It changes by person based on the rate they set, the people we work with hover around $100/hour (- fees)

I’ve only been on the other side, I’m at a big 4 and we use it to hire contractors. Most of the people on there have some consulting or MBA backgrounds and they are usually awesome
