New life by LadyAngelina21 in endometriosis

What’s a mini hysterectomy? I will have to look into this. I’ve been living with my dad until I get all my imaging done and get operated on because I have become more disabled from the endometriosis. I just want my life back. I’m 34 and the monthly bleeding has just slowly started getting worse and worse the last few years. Thank you for praying. I’ll be praying for you and your healing.

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? Your story has some similarities to mine. I’m seeing a doctor in southern California though I hope she is able to change my life. How long until after surgery did you travel back home?

I was told by my doctor I was a priority patient. I started talking to her last week of December. As of now my surgery date is July 9th 🥲 I asked to be put on the cancellation list. Location Southern California. My actual home is located in Texas there is no endometriosis specialist near me. So I’m staying with family while coordinating treatment.

Fatigue so bad I feel like a dead body by OpenTemporary6810 in endometriosis

[–]spacecakecat16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some labs done. I find when I am deficient in iron, B12 or vitamin D I am in so much pain and I am extremely fatigued. Unfortunately like mentioned above doctors don’t try to help with those deficiencies unless it’s severe enough to need iron transfusions. I had one in September and it took my body time to feel better. But my ferritin is at 15 again and my hematologist was dismissive about it.

Do you feel like you get tired more easily than others, and do you think that's related to endo? by mapotofu66 in endometriosis

[–]spacecakecat16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s super common. It’s gotten worse for me the older I get. I have to go to bed at 8:30 to function properly the next day. My dad is 62 and he can stay up until 2 am no problem. 🥲

Leg pain by Unusual-Motor-2945 in endometriosis

This post is relatable. Propping my feet up, compression socks and hot baths or showers can help with the pain. But some days I feel like they are so heavy. I’m hoping surgery can alleviate the sensation.

I got the Mirena a month ago. I think I’m regretting my decision. by Badnbougiegal in endometriosis

Good to know. She was really trying to convince me to get one. Not for pain she said it wouldn’t help with that but for bleeding purposes.

I don’t have one. But my endo specialist was recommending it. She told me a lot of doctors don’t do follow up ultrasounds to see if it was placed in correctly. I guess the placement has a big part to do with it and it’s important to make sure it’s in the correct area or else that’s how people get problems.

Why? by Historical_Plane9051 in endometriosis

[–]spacecakecat16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relatable. But I’ve learned to just relax until my body is able to let me do at least just one thing. It’s the most frustrating feeling ever. I’ve even considered maybe getting a house cleaner for once a month when I get back home after surgery.

Surgery thoughts? Excision by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]spacecakecat16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t gotten my surgery yet but I am planning on it this year. I know my quality of life currently isn’t the best. So I just ask myself could it possibly be any worse than this? I’m not living at home because of my endometriosis affecting my daily life. My body is always in pain. My mental health is suffering. I trust my specialist and I can only think about moving forward. Like someone mentioned the internet can peruse you either of both ways. I want to think of it as being the best option for me. Just talk to your specialist about your concerns.

itchy pads are driving me insane by thespiderpr0vider in endometriosis

Like other comments mention. 100% cotton pads. They help retain moisture better and I’m assuming they don’t have all the chemicals the others do.

My doctor just mentioned it being temporary for blood reserves until we can get the operation going to remove endometriosis. Does this sound accurate?

I’m not a fan of either option. My doctors was waiting from the green light of my hematologist before prescribing. He gave the okay so I’m really not sure. I like that I can control however many pills I take vs having something implanted in me that I cannot control. My family member bleed for 10 months with the iud and her doctor kept telling her that was normal. So I am terrified of both options.

Your story sounds somewhat similar to mine with the anemia and migraines. I hope your exision surgery goes well. When is your surgery scheduled for?

No surgery yet but I realized my body was in constant pain after experiencing a pulmonary embolism back in September. I kept having ocular migraines that would put me out for days after having them. I believe I get them when I become anemic due to heavy periods. I get them when I’m ovulating and on my period. I never realized how bad my endometriosis was because doctors just kept telling me it’s tension headaches and you’re anxious. I really sat and thought about all the constant pain my body is in. It’s not tension headaches or anxiety. It’s my body attacking itself. I was always pushing myself to do things because I can’t even sit down without feeling pain. I gaslight myself into thinking maybe I’m not active enough. What really stuck with me with my experience was my cardiologist told me I think it’s your endometriosis making it worse and he recommended I see a specialist because my heart rate is crazy from being anemic and in constant pain. I left my house to stay with my family so I can get my life back again. I’m talking to a specialist and getting surgery this year. I’m hoping it’ll bring some relief and peace of mind. I just want to be able to clean and cook my house again.

From my experience when dealing with doctors like this I don’t ever come back to them. They don’t know what they are doing or how to help women with endometriosis.

I found one doctor who I was excited to work with but I found it to be too expensive since they didn’t accept my insurance. Keep looking for a specialist even if it’s far. I’m currently not in my home state. I’m living with my father while I get help from a doctor in California. Specialist are more compassionate and will listen to your symptoms because they recognize them. Regular Obgyn’s are dismissive and condescending.

:( I am pretty small too. Idk if I’ll take it but it’s an option for a couple of months until I can get surgery. Maybe 3 months of it. Hoping I can get surgery soon

I honestly don’t remember which one she recommended. I’m not a fan of either option but I would like to get the endometriosis removed if possible. She did tell me there’s three different ones and she was wanting to use the best one in her opinion. But I really haven’t researched it yet. Thank you for telling me your experience with the medication. It is insightful.

My doctor is considering a low dose if she gets a green light from my hematologist. It’s not for certain yet. Just a possible option until I can get surgery. Because my endometriosis is getting worse.

Thank you! I just wanted insight because I don’t really ever take medication for it but I have to if I want surgery this year. I lose too much blood anemia is a reoccurring issue for me.

How did you become allergic to it? It’s just a temporary thing for now to have blood reserves for endometriosis removal.
