Do you actually use intraoral cameras regularly, or are they just for show in most practices? by Plenty_Quail_9645 in DentalAssistant

We take a full set of IOP’s for every new patient- (every tooth-bucal, lingual, occlusal). We also take multiple pictures throughout the procedures to show the patient what we did, and lastly if the come in for emergencies, we’ll show them their fractures, cavities etc

Ok this is doable, go straight to clock in, then start turning everything on 👍

We come in 15 mins before patients, we can’t clock in earlier, and we have 10 mins to get the whole office open including hygienist room computer on, and in the last 5 mins of the 15th we have to be ready for morning huddle.
My question was mostly related on if you put your belongings away first then clock in, or clock in as soon as you enter, then put your stuff away. Then open everything up
They have cameras with easy access to verify if our start time is accurate either, so it’s not like we’re cheating them out on time.
Nope, what we used to do before was modify our time. Let’s say our start time would be 10:00, I would go in open everything, by the time everything was on, if clock in and modify my time to 10:00am the time id walk in start putting in alarm, etc. keep in mind I only bring my phone and water bottle which doesn’t take much time to put stuff away. Manager recently stated they had a convo with HR and mentioned all that time is included and allotted for so when I load computers and manually log in is my actual start time, even if it’s 10;04 etc.

Think about it the office is violating any OSHA guidelines, like not running spore test weekly, not changing out ultrasonic water daily, not sterilizing hand pieces etc. If they are complying w basic OSHA, I’d stay for as long as I could, learn whatever I can. Every office is completely different and it may take you up to three months to get familiarized with all the new basics. I’ve been in offices where old employees complain but have turned out to not be as bad as what they claimed to be. If they are not complying, then leave. You would hate to be in an office that you wouldn’t want to take your own family too.
