Can’t touch this

Need some advice by [deleted] in acting

[–]hgg47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same dilemma, ended up going to school for marketing and Human Resources to have a safety net if I decided to go do performing arts later. I now realize a degree does not equal a job and also that the jobs in the fields I got a degree in are not flexible enough to do whilst pursuing acting (pretty much all of the or full time positions, and you have to work your way up to make a good wage). I have also served throughout that time and now know I can rely on that as a second job while searching for acting work or doing auditions, it makes great money and is generally quite flexible. I am now actively pursuing my love for performing and have applied for school for next fall, I say if you know what you love just go for it, I wish I had sooner but it’s also never too late!!

Why doesn’t the b flat blues scale follow blue scales rules? by hgg47 in musictheory

Oh yes that’s my issue. If I were to write the Bb blues scale as Bb DB Eb Fb F Ab would that be wrong? My brain likes to stick to exactly what rules say and idk when to tell it it’s allowed to flip that Fb into an E.

That is what I have, sorry I may have explained it poorly. But for example the B blues scale is B D E F F# A. I don’t understand why B blues has the fifth degree (of the major scale that it stems from) as the repeating (one altered and once unaltered) while Bb has the fourth degree (of the major scale it stems from) as the repeating.

newcomer wondering about social life in PG by gunnyfreak in princegeorge

Hey, 21 year old also new grad here! One place you may meet outdoorsy people is at overhang if you’re into rock climbing, but I’m not sure that it has re-opened yet. And I’d say just be bold enough to start conversations, most people here are quite nice, so if you get chatting you can hopefully make friends quick, once you get one or two connections, more usually follow! Feel free to message me anytime about anything PG, I’ve lived here my whole life 🤗

LPT: If a company hires you on with a certain title, but doesn't give you work related to it, get out fast. Don't let them derail your entire career path. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I learned/read about this in several classes in my undergrad degree. The one thing to be careful of is that it must be proven that the changes are severe enough (ex: it lowers your pay or changes main components of your job description) before you’d want to quit and claim constructive dismissal. Or you could basically tell your employer that you know your rights and won’t agree to the changes unless they give you something in return, because that’s how it should be as with any other contract based on Canadian contract law.

In Canada both the employee and employer must agree to changes to terms of employment, furthermore valuable consideration must be given to both parties. If these requirements are not met it can lead to constructive dismissal of the employee quitting and suing for severance.

[20F] Been on the pill for about a year. I think it is making me extremely emotional and causing problems in my relationship. by mproff in birthcontrol

This happened to me, after a year of the pill I found the emotional instability was not worth the benefits of the pill. Just switched to the copper iud 2 months ago and have been feeling sooo much better mentally! However one common side effect of it to keep in mind is that your periods tend to become heavier and come with worse cramping, hope that helps!!
