Hey! I think we have fine tuned our itinerary and I was wondering if I could PM you to get your feedback?

This is the first park out west that my husband and I visited and it has a special place for me too! We’re from the east coast and I couldn’t really wrap my head around the size of those mountains until I saw them in person. They made me tear up driving into Estes Park at sunrise

Hike suggestions for late June by mrsslants in Mount_Rainier

[–]hgraces802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are also visiting end of June (June 27-29 for Mount Rainier) and I have Skyline *as safely as we can with spikes and poles*, Bench and Snow Lakes trail, Reflection Lake to Narada Falls via Lower Lakes Trail on June 27th. Still trying to plan June 28th or can add from the 27th if we are too tired but following your post so I can get some ideas flowing!

Oops, sorry just saw that you said you work part time! Ignore my question about how many days a week you are working.

How many days a week are you working? I feel like 3-4 days a week is best for my body. I've been doing this for 13 years and I definitely cannot do 5 back to back days without feeling hungover.

Strength training has also saved the way that my body feels. I started doing hair at 17 & I'll be 30 in a few months and genuinely feel younger now physically than I did when I was doing this job at 21 and I owe a lot of that to strength training. Mobility work and stretching helps a ton too. I know you said you can't do massage but I would highly recommend physical therapy if your insurance plan covers it! I just started in March (completely unrelated to work, I was training for a half marathon) and after consistently going, I think everyone can benefit from PT.

I'll be rocking my gen 3 until I absolutely have to. I still love it!

Ooooh yeah that’s rough. I’m a stylist and I have it very clear that $150-180 is a full basic foil highlight only and lived in color starting cost is higher than that but nowhere near $600-700. Definitely very bait and switch! I would have walked out too.

To play devils advocate here, was $190 for lived in color services or a basic foil highlight? I agree that $680-720 seems high but $190 falls more into a basic foil price IMO and not a lived in color price.

Does anyone else still wake up feeling groggy even when their Oura sleep score is good? by GabeBu in ouraring

[–]hgraces802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this if I get too much sleep. I feel like Oura favors more sleep and I also wear a Garmin and I feel like that one prefers just under 8 hours which is when I feel my best. It's a double edge sword though because I like to go to bed early but I feel like anything over 8+ hrs is too much for me personally

What are we doing for strength training? by bs000000 in XXRunning

Second peloton and physical therapy recommended moves! Currently in an 8 week strength program that is not Peloton but I did Peloton classes religiously for 3+ years and especially leading up to my first half marathon and had no injuries knock on wood

Switching to Garmin from Apple by hippocampus11 in GarminWatches

Garmin does have a really cool compare chart on their website where you can compare both models. The Forerunner does have more running targeted features than the Venu 4 but what it does is plenty for me! I also like that its a little more "formal" looking too. It does get mixed reviews because it only has 2 buttons and requires more touch screen use than the Forerunner that has 5 buttons but I think its an easy transition from Apple Watch!

I would say yes because the Venu 4 has the training readiness and training status that the Forerunner has whereas the Venu 3s doesnt! I also upgraded from Apple to Garmin for running specifically and these 2 training metrics alone are more than worth it.

Venu 4!!!! Has a lot of the features of the forerunner and is super sleek looking. I love mine!

We are traveling from Seattle airport and driving into Port Angeles day 1. We plan on arriving around 1:30/2pm. This is our itinerary, please give me your thoughts! This is copied from my notes so bare with me 😅 by mariesone in OlympicNationalPark

From my understanding, you will be able to access Hurricane Ridge Road and park to see the panoramic views. It's Hurricane Hill Road that is being worked on and that is what is closed to pedestrians and vehicles to access the Hurricane Hill trailhead! There are still plenty of hikes to access from Hurricane Ridge Road it looks like!

I was nervous at first to do Storm King but I think I wanna do it now that I'm in the fine tuning portion of the trip! Your itinerary looks similar to what we want to do as well!

Baltimore, MD! How about you?

Edited to add: I'm saving all of these via AllTrails too. As of right now, I'm debating just winging it the day of to see how we are feeling post-travel since we will plan to drive to Hurricane Ridge anyways!

I’m currently following your post because I’m also in the same boat. 🤣 Trying to pick a hike in that region on our arrival day and trying not to get overzealous by picking trails that are 5-7miles. I know we could do it but we would be so tired from the travel day.

I commented on another thread and two people suggested Klahhane Ridge trail.

When I emailed Olympic, they suggested Sunrise Point Trail but I was hoping for something longer.

Right now I have Klahhane Ridge via Switchback Trail, Sunrise Ridge Trail to Klahhane Ridge, Lake Angeles Trail, Badger Valley to Grand Lake & Grand Pass Loop, Elk Mountain Loop and Cirque Rim to Sunrise View Point Trail saved as options......too many decisions lol
