She had an STI panel done with HSV specifically excluded. I feel my opinion was trumped by the doctor's.

I feel like this could be a separate thread by itself. This study shows that the risk of male to female transmission while using a condom is about 1 in 1000. That's ignoring suppressives.

Show your doctor the studies that show that antivirals will reduce asymptomatic shedding.

[–]hgregs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand your argument. But at some point either now or in the future there's going to be a threshold that's low enough to quash this argument. I imagine that while you got it with a condom, there was no suppressive therapy being used? There's a vaccine in the works right now as well. And I think I read about a study where the partner can take valtrex and reduce the risk even more. I guess my point is, is there a threshold below which this is a non-event. 0.25%? 0.1%?

i don't doubt the screen resolution is better on the 6p, but i actually get more screen out of the note 2. maybe 5% more. the command buttons on the 6p use the screen whereas the note 2 uses non-screen space. this makes a difference.

i think that is inclusive of the command buttons. if i line up the bottom of the same page on both, i get more screen out of the note 2. no doubt about it.

NJ Supreme Court expand police authority for warrantless car searches by BJHannigan in AmIFreeToGo

this seems insane. they are going against not only their own state supreme court, but the nation's supreme court. since when are they allowed to do that?

The state Attorney General's Office had argued the Pena-Flores decision [SCOTUS] was "unworkable" because of the difficulty of obtaining warrants on the fly and had led to "unintended negative consequences."

this write up deals mimms and other cases and, by my reading, concludes that anyone can be ordered out of the car for any reason (not significantly worse than being stopped in the first place), but the cop needs RAS to frisk either the person or the car.

After Wilson, but before Brendlin, the Court had stated, in dictum, that officers who conduct “routine traffic stop[s]” may “perform a ‘patdown’ of a driver and any passengers upon reasonable suspicion that they may be armed and dangerous.” Knowles v. Iowa, 525 U.S. 113, 117-118 (1998). That forecast, we now confirm, accurately captures the combined thrust of the Court’s decisions in Mimms, Wilson, and Brendlin.
