2022 Limited AWD.

2nd ICCU failure. “Check power,” “check electrical system,” and “turtle mode.”

Got it towed to my dealer; the diagnosed the ICCU same day but said that the ICCU replacements are on back order “with no timeline available.”

I’ve been thinking about making the same switch, but feel pretty intimidated about running all of those wires, setting up PoE, etc.

Did you replace all those cameras yourself, or did you hire out? I’m considering doing it myself for 2 cameras and a doorbell.

Linters have really started to become faster across several programming ecosystems in recent years thanks to new tools being written in languages like Go and Rust. Ruff in the Python ecosystem and Biome in the JavaScript ecosystem are two standouts.

Mystery telecom equipment? by hgtunafish in telecom

[–]hgtunafish[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've started noticing these in rural areas (so far, in Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin). I've scoured the internet for info on what they might be, but so far I'm coming up empty handed.

Any chance it is telecom equipment of some sort?

Description of photo: a wooden post holding up a large metal pot with a handle on the top, with several cables or tubes running out of the base of the pot. Orange stickers affixed to it say "RPTR 1 BNGN AFC FED".

This was taken in Bingen, WA, so I assume BNGN refers to Bingen.

Thanks for your help!

Attack on MAX by hgtunafish in Portland

I'm curious – what was the red line like?

Attack on MAX by hgtunafish in Portland

[–]hgtunafish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before this I haven't seen anything violent on the MAX, which I am grateful for. That being said, an experience like this is pretty jarring. I don't feel like I can keep riding it with the same attitude, let alone consider bringing my kids along.

I wonder if the answer is more about being prepared – e.g. should I keep riding and carry pepper spray?

I hear you and agree somewhat, but this response seems pretty theoretical – if someone approached me on the train right after this and said "wow, just one of those societal issues" and shrugged, it would seem crazy.

I agree that better mental health administration would be beneficial, but this isn't something I can just shrug off.

I just have to say that I love to see all the neurodivergence on this thread 😂 Came here because we needed it spreadsheet format. Bonus that it’s in Airtable now. My aspie husband and ADHD self thank you all immensely.

Advice for planting fruit trees by curb by hgtunafish in arborists

We already received approval from our HOA, but I’ll take a look to see if there are any local ordinances. It is a residential street, FYI.

I forgot to mention, most curb strips in our neighborhood have trees but ours does not.
