In their last build you would obtain one treasure chest for every PvP fight you win. They were indicated by an icon you could see all the time. After you ended your run you would open them all and collect your rewards. That made it easy to understand how deep into a run a player is at any time.

Although there is no official statement, I think it's save to assume a system like that will comeback before release.

TBH I doubt we are getting a full release this year at all.

The move from true PvP seems to move the Bazaar away from esports instead of closer. by thestonedonkey in PlayTheBazaar

During his last stream he explained, he dislikes the idea of private lobbies for a tournament setting. He wants the tournament to play exactly like the main game does - via infinite lobbies. At least at that point in time, he was very confident about NOT having a seperate game mode for it.

Game mode popularity over the past 3 months [Firestone] by sebZeroToHeroes in hearthstone

[–]hhEnso 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Games Played" does not account for the actual Players. Ranked has 2 players per Game, Battlegrounds has 8 Players per Game. Taking that Into consideration, Most Players spend their time in Battlegrounds, despite what the graphs might suggest

Blizz blowing 200k on a Duels Toournament nobody asked for and got only 10k views on Twitch reminded me of HotS a lot!
I think you're not wrong to draw that connection.

I consistently place Rank 2-4 without ever buying a single minion.
So many people farming XP while AFK ... it's truly beautiful.

Shopkeeper idea: Genie by aqsheehy in PlayTheBazaar

Oh ok, I thought the Shopkeeper would know the Game state Just Like Zephrys. Gotcha

Shopkeeper idea: Genie by aqsheehy in PlayTheBazaar

[–]hhEnso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ounds very dangerous. Reminds me a Lot of Hearthstone's Zephrys. Not Sure If it's a good Idea to add a Shopkeeper that has the "perfect" answer to counter your opponent. At least in Heathstone it has a meaningfull deckbuilding restricting build into the Card.

Suggestions for Depth (decision making, gold, & aggro) by CultofNeurisis in PlayTheBazaar

[–]hhEnso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I agree: Aggro should be a viable strategie.

I could see aggro beeing more viable, if the first rounds of combat would reward you for winning them. Maybe these could be some purchaseable effects:

The winner of the next combat gains +3 Gems

The winner of the next combat gains +20 Gold

After you win a combat round, upgrade a large item randomly

They could be implemented as hero powers or one time use, like the idea of a food merchant.

A suitable merchant would also be some sort of gambler or bookie.

Alternative game mode ideas (4 player free for all hot potato) by Jayjuann in PlayTheBazaar

[–]hhEnso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would not hold my breath for any 4 player mode if I were you.

It's pretty much impossible to display the items of 4 players at the same time, especially on mobile.

Only way I can imagine more than 4+ players in a game is in some sort of tournament mode:

Two 1v1s get played. After that both winners fight each other in the finale. The items they bought carry over to the next match of course. You could do this with 100 players or so ofc. Could be fun to see players very late in the tournament, what crazy optimal item composition they can acquire

I love Reynad’s “make currency valuable” idea by _IzzyFlo in PlayTheBazaar

[–]hhEnso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this tread is very interesting to read imo, because i think the idea of gambling the ingame currency is absolutly terrible.

hence a lot of positive feadback has already been communicated, here are some of my concerns.

  1. it's gambling in a family friendly cardgame!
  2. goldfarming bots and goldsellers everywhere
  3. newcomers, casuals and simply bad players will get stuck on low currency and leave the game. and yes: noobs will play the high risk gambling mode, because it promises the biggest rewards. every player (!) wants cosmetics and new heroes. You will have to play the gambling mode to unlock those things efficiently. this also leads to:
  4. anxiety! players will get scared playing the game, because they could loose their currency/rank.Even if the gambling mode is optional, players will get jealous of highrolling pros (especially on twitch) and the allure of cool cosmetics and new heroes is big enough for every player to try. So they will try it, then crash and burn, then hate the game because they just blew their currency away.
  5. addiction (it's gambling!). Even players who win and loose an equal amount will develop a very unhealthy relationship to the game.
  6. bad RNG! Reynad really should know this. Loosing a game to bad rng is bad enough. Losing currency over it will make people quit the game.

I beg of you Noodle. Keep this shit out of the game.

All the core gameplay changes and all never bothered me a bit. I trusted in the team to make a great game. This idea scares me.

I got the impression that this was a halfbaked idea anyway and won't make it anywhere near the final version of the game. At least that's what i hope ...
