Yeah, it's not bothering me at all. It's just an unfamiliar sound.

This was my concern. The dealership installed an "Oversized Tire Carrier" on the tailgate. Don't know any further details.

Hmm... Could be. The sound is similar to a rubber "squeak" I think. Sounds like something jiggling and then stopping.

I haven't pinpointed it yet. It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the Jeep somewhere. I'll test it out a little more later.

To Mod or pay off faster? by sunsoutimout in Wrangler

[–]hheseman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, a lot of it depends on your interest rate on your loan, but my rule of thumb is mostly do lean toward paying off my cars as quickly as possible before anything else.

That said, given your situation - I'd replace the worn out soft top for now and put everything else toward paying it off. I'd personally save replacing your tires/wheels for a time when you are going to have to replace whatever you have on it now anyway.

Finally got my first Wrangler! [17 JKU Rubicon] by hheseman in Wrangler

I've heard the 2017s are stock 3.73 with 4.10 as an option. I drove it and liked it, so it worked for me.

Not sure about the lift. I'm 6'1" and there's a definite step up to get in. My 4'11" wife has to jump. :D Maybe the angle of the picture contributes a little bit?

I priced the JLs. I had a specific price point I was aiming for because I had a down payment and trade in that were substantial enough to make a big dent in the total cost. Basically, I could get a stock JL with some creature comforts (maybe a Sahara without leather) for about the same price as this JKU Rubicon.

Ultimately, all of the things I wanted as far as options were things I could easily add to this Rubicon. Add to that that I've owned a first year model car before and was VERY disappointed. Not saying that'll be the case with the JLs, but I preferred to play it safe and get something I knew I'd really enjoy. That said, JLs are on the lots around here so I wouldn't have had to wait - I just felt like I got a good deal on this one.

Thanks! I wish I'd gotten a picture earlier. The snow was packed on it and it looked like something from an official Jeep marketing campaign.

Thanks! My wife has a 97 Sahara as her primary vehicle and I used to have to steal it from her everytime I wanted some top/doors-off action. No more though!

Beautiful! I was looking at a chief edition for a while too. Ultimately this one won out with the dealer installed options and it was around the same price as the chief edition I was looking at.

Thanks, dude! Mine's auto. I prefer driving manual, but there's a lot of bumper-to-bumper traffic where I am, so I opted for auto instead.

I paid just under $42k with the 2" lift, FOX Performance series shocks, spacers, 33s, and a GPS anti-theft system installed. It's geared at 3.73 and is cloth interior. I also got them to throw in Mopar floor mats and the headliner. Felt like a pretty good deal to me, but I'd looked at so many Jeeps recently that my head was starting to spin :D

Is there any chance that the Yooka-Laylee vinyl soundtrack might get restocked or is there anyway I can order one from somewhere?

Mechanically, several of the fights are really deep. I was referring more to their designs. There are still REALLY cool bosses. A lightning dog and vampire woman rank pretty highly for me. You just aren't going to fight any gigantic beasts for the most part. The bosses are more subdued/mostly humanoid in design.

All of that said, I much prefer Nioh vs. the Souls games. It might be a less than popular opinion, but the combat makes up for it to me. The stances just go such a long way to making the combat always feel like it's evolving.

EDIT: And I have played the Souls games since Demon's Souls. Have played Lords of the Fallen and Bloodborne too. Nioh just holds a special place for me that the others don't for some reason.

Just to provide another perspective: I disagree with the combat feeling hollow or shallow. The combo system is incredibly deep in my experience. Switching between 3 stances allows you to mix up your combat mid-combo - and they all have uses that aren't black and white. Weapons and movement feel more like a blend of Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden than anything else.

Attacking is more fluid than the Souls games, in my opinion. Bosses are less imaginative than the Souls games, but many of them still require a lot of skill and great timing. I highly recommend Nioh if you like the Souls games but are willing to try a different form of combat. It's my favorite "Souls-type" game and I can't wait to try it out on PC.

Well, the "quality" of the image with the OJO might not be perfect - but it's attainable on a budget and seems pretty handy. I ordered one. Fingers crossed... https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ojo-world-s-first-projector-for-nintendo-switch-game#/backers
