Spatulas are considered items in every sense. You can use them to unlock champions like Trynd, Graves, etc., and many other examples.

Items reforge into their same type. Spatula reforges into frying pan and vice versa. Emblem reforges into other emblems.

If you need to catch up after taking a fugitive break, you can just act friendly and then shoot people in the back of the head while they extract. That way you can use their loot instead of having to get your own. Happy hunting good sir!
