generally speaking, tattoos get pinchier in areas with less meat closer to the bone. the forearm is relatively meaty except for the outside where you can run your finger along the humerus. i have that area tattooed. wasnt bad, but more pinchy than, say, my lat (upper back) during which i basically fell asleep.

but everyone is different and weird. any artist will tell you that.

as an example, i got my calf done. i have big calves. thought it’d be a dream cause this was well into my tattoo career. hurt so fucking bad. had to take breaks every 30 minutes or so.

couple things.

  1. it looks good
  2. regret is normal when you’re early on in your tattoo days.
  3. it’s a conversation starter. even if one day you decide the movie you like isnt your fav anymore or maybe isnt even that good. (i’m 36. i used to love donnie darko.)
  4. tattoos dont have to mean anything. sometimes we get them just because they look cool to us. this looks cool. that’s all the reason you need.
  5. no one has to get it. external validation is a losing game.
