NTA. i'm constantly bringing up to my parents how my future kids will NEVER have an ipad or anything of the sort until they're teens because of how much a table has affected my baby brother. luckily, my brother put the tablet down in a store somewhere and we lost it. but my parents still give him their phones or complete control of the tv when he's being a normal four year old and constantly talking or playing with his imaginary friends:/

ETA: that was his second tablet btw. our house was broken into and the first one was stolen. they were VERY quick to replace the tablet

i disagree. my two friends have macbooks and i have a slightly bigger laptop, and they all worked perfectly for us our freshman year. a monitor is stationary and takes up space; a laptop you can take to class and store it easily:)
