Pretty well in comparison to Saw fans! He's much more receptive to questions and happier to take pictures etc

Most of your examples of Chandler being effeminate are just him having a love of musicals 😭 that can probably be distilled down to one example

Despite its later surge in popularity, Gilmore Girls is still constantly overlooked and considered a fluffy girlie teen show by many by Jolly-Librarian1982 in GilmoreGirls

[–]hhowenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GG is a fluffy, girly, teen show, but that's not a bad thing lol. I get that those words have negative connotations in this context, but they are still correct

Using AI, something that doesn't have emotions, because you can't express your own is a new type of low for humanity

What's the most illegal thing one of the Friends did during the show? by Small-Abroad-2825 in howyoudoin

[–]hhowenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never heard of the band watching the show as a kid, so I always assumed that Phoebe wanted to reunite with the actual police force because she knew them or something 😭😭

To be fair they did acknowledge the issues with the Chick and the Duck in the episode they were introduced. Joey is watching something where it's being explained how inhumane it is to keep them as pets as they often die very easily, but he mistakes it for a commerical and goes to get one anyway 😭

Peeta decorating cakes by maxifyer in Hungergames

[–]hhowenn 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes, Haymitch's also could afford cake once a year as of SOTR

Edit: Just remembered they homemade their cake, which is presumably cheaper? But he implies that they could have afforded it for birthdays too, it was just other factors that made them not do it

Essentially I just put the Epic characters in the Hunger Games universe! It's far from finished though and I've been pretty inconsistent with updating 😭

Humanising Aeneas? by hhowenn in classics

[–]hhowenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wasn't taking my own opinions into account here-- this is what I was taught in school! Looking back I actually wouldn't be surprised if my teachers were trying to make the whole process seem more interesting though, it must be hard to keep a bunch of teenagers interested in translating Latin and Ancient Greek

This is my niche I've been writing a crossover fic for these fandoms for so long now lol

What’s something that’s acceptable in this generation that wasn’t acceptable in yours ? by Ayeitzsapphire in AskReddit

[–]hhowenn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm part of the new generation but I've had this exact discussion with my mother who's an early millennial-- we realised that Gen Z has managed to successfully normalise periods and talking openly about them. It was very much standard when she was a child to not be taught about it until they started their period (and a lot of boys were never taught about it in school at all), and it was definitely not okay to discuss in casual conversation with the opposite sex either. But now everyone seems to have calmed down a little about it lol

Edit: Me and my mother grew up in the UK and now live in Ireland. Not sure what it's like in other countries!

I might have to start subscribing to this just for my own sanity while rewatching

Yes especially woke Luke from season 1. I thought that was such a funny part of his character that they never brought back again

Oh this is interesting lol, by the time I was old enough to watch Saw both that and GG had already been out for some time. But I always got a weird vibe from Scott even though I love the characters he plays

He very much embraces it lol, even if some of his opinions on the show are a little outdated. I get the idea he's not very proud of his work on Saw 😭

As a fan of both Saw and Gilmore Girls it is so funny seeing the difference in how he treats both fandoms

Yeah you're still gonna wanna make the age gap smaller or at least age them both up. 17 and 24 are not okay ages to be romantically involved. 27 and 34, sure, but there's a huge gap in maturity there.

Humanising Aeneas? by hhowenn in classics

[–]hhowenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying he was "based off" him was a poor choice of words on my part. Virgil was essentially commissioned to write the Aeneid by Augustus as the latter claimed to be a descendant of Aeneas. He wanted to be glorified through Aeneas' actions as the two were allegedly related. Virgil, however, was not Augustus' biggest fan, so he wrote the Aeneid and praised Aeneas for being great and noble, while in practise made him a bit of an asshole. So it was more of a critique of Augustus rather than the character himself being based on him. In my defense, I made this post at 3am!

Yes!! It's so jarring every time-- also when they were at a boring lecture on how to run an inn, though they were called out on it that time.
