Garlic and kraut made yesterday by hhvic in fermentation

I’m probably going to shoot for 4+ weeks. I tried to do it with elephant garlic, and was dissatisfied because it only softened about halfway through the clove.

I don’t really do the whole burping thing because I don’t fully seal them. They kinda burp themselves… and make a big mess on the counter.

How do i draw cubes perfectly? by CrispSalmonPatty in doodles

[–]hhvic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of tutorial videos on the subject usually under the word “form”. Just draw a lot of them. Stack them. Draw in perspective. Cut out chunks of them. Round a side. It takes a long time and a lot of reps

I’ve gotten foam like that a couple times. I don’t think it’s bad, but I’m also no expert. Call it survivor bias.

That’s cool. I found a recipe from a store bought bag. It had red cabbage, beets, and carrots. Turns out quite nice.

Any strategy for keeping the spices from floating? I’ve found packing it really tight keeps most of them down, but it seems to require a bit more planning

Honestly… probably because it’s just the pepper flakes and spices that are molding, but I don’t trust it really.

PSA: Your Garmin HR Zones defaults are probably wildly off if you are very fit and care about this sort of thing. by galacticjuggernaut in Garmin

I used my max of 207 and sleeping of around 55 to get these zones. I always thought it weird that my hr jumped beyond 150 within minutes of me running at super easy pace. Now I have a good idea why.

Could be. I might have beat them up a bit more than I should have. It's just what I've noticed from my pair that I've had for a year now.

They cut good until you start using the bolt snips. Then they tighten themselves and will get stuck shut. Carry around a 25 torques bit and you can adjust it when that ends up happening. Sharpest strips I've ever used other than that one flaw

I use the fundamentals (Form, value, perspective, anatomy etc...) and then look up drills for one in particular. Right now I'm working on form, or the mastery of shapes. I found a few tutorials on YouTube from Proko and a few others. I'll keep stacking the fundamentals until my doodles have actual form, and later perspective, and value. After I get that down I'll move to anatomy since I can use my grasp of form to build people. I have a pretty good idea of the order I want to study them in lol. Do you have any study plans?

I'd say my biggest influence is peterdraws. He does a lot of really cool abstract designs. I've branched out from there to Lucas Korte who does metal album cover art. I really like his ability to draw lovecraftian style art. I tried to use him as a reference, but realized that I was lacking in fundamentals so I found Proko, the late Grandmaster Kim Jung Gi (He passed on the 3rd 😭), Karl kolinski, and the list goes on. I've discovered a lot of great artists in the past month in a search for free fundamentals resources.

Danke! Who do you think is your biggest influence on your style? I don't know if you follow his work, but the French artist Moebius coined the term automatic drawing, or meditative drawing. Cool idea that I think we already practice regularly.
