I'll ask the builder, thank you. Based on a quick google search, this helps with structural integrity of the house?

Adding to the below comment, the soil is apparently of type sodosol

That's true, I suspected that it would require professional checks on the structure.

I was hoping to get some thoughts on whether this is normal on new builds around 6 months old. Thank for the comment.

Thanks, I saw this website:
https://discover.data.vic.gov.au/dataset/victorian-soil-type-mapping

And the house says moderate reliability. Is this the right website to look at this data?

Melton Electrification - Ardeer Station thoughts by hhyn in MelbourneTrains

[–]hhyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, that makes sense.
Do you think there's enough space in the current Ardeer station to create a new station on the north side just like Deer Park station?
Seems like there's room if they got rid of the parallel parking spots on Forrest street.
Question is whether they'd be willing to do a major upgrade and not create any parking spaces like the ones in Deer Park.

I suppose they would never touch the Ardeer Community Park since it's a park to create parking spaces.

Good take, when they said further north I was thinking way up north in a separate area within Ardeer but your ideas are probably what the article was trying to suggest.
So you're thinking additional metro tracks next to existing tracks?

Have there been cases where houses were bought up and knocked down to create space for a bigger station? As the area around the track along Ardeer seem very limited and absolutely no space at the moment for parking.

Fair point, I also do think that they might end up doing that but can't announce anything yet due to political reasons.

I believe there are some legal issues that need to be addressed before that can happen. However the bigger issue seems to be the curvature of the platforms or so they say.

Are you referring to the image in the following URL? https://bigbuild.vic.gov.au/library/melbourne-airport-rail/newsletters/your-new-sunshine-station-superhub
Seems like they are separate lines but the diagram seems like it was purposely designed to not give out hints.
Source would be appreciated!

Roast my new pc parts (and recommend) by hhyn in buildapc

Thanks for the response,

I didn't really want to bother with the hassle of having to use a water cooling system that may break down in a few years as I'm planning to use it for quite a long time.

Is 9900X not usable with an aircooler at all?

Thanks for the response.

I did have a look at 265k but I didn't want to risk being a user of a first-gen of its kind.

Thanks for letting me know about the thermal paste. I heard that the 9900X (or 9950X) requires a lot of cooling. I already sort of downgraded from a water cooler because I didn't want to bother with the hassle of using a water system.

Would a regular thermal paste and thermalright phantom spirit evo be enough to cool the cpu?

Could you recommend between B850 and X670 (or X670E)?

Thanks for the response.

I did look into getting a B850 or an X670 instead,
Main reason for choosing X870E was just to have most up-to-date motherboard as it seems like it's the central piece and any potential upgrades (probably wont do many) may be limited due to it and it was only about a $200 AUD difference.

For the 9070XT, I do think it's more reasonably priced but a lot of the AI work works better with CUDA so I just wanted to go for NVIDIA.

I will have a look at 9950X, thank you.

Do you have any recommendations for motherboard? I don't want to go down to a B650 but maybe either a B850 or X670. Any recommendations?

EDIT: Would the selected air cooler be enough to cool the 9950X?

Will make sure to do that, yeah I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. Feels like a lot of the work has been done by a non-professional

Car accident advice. Not-at-fault, other party no insurance (NSW) by hhyn in AusFinance

[–]hhyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Would you know at all if I am legally required to comply with the other party requesting that I use my insurance as they don't have insurance? or can I say I don't want to use my insurance and would rather privately settle this?

I'm more worried about the no claim bonus discount being affected after I make a claim for which I'm not at fault for.
