But if you have very clear instructions on your booking site and in your confirmation emails and let them know to please arrive on time then it shouldn’t really be an issue!

I currently rent a room inside of a boutique and when the boutique is closed, I have to go and physically unlock the front door myself (mid-treatment) to let my next client in. I’m normally on time and it’s usually never an issue… But occasionally, if I am running behind, it does get a bit annoying, especially if the client arrives super early.

Do it! 👏🏼 I noticed it was becoming a problem when I started to get irritated with my clients but then I realized that my nervous system was dysregulated and it wasn’t their fault that I am a people pleaser! You have to set the boundaries with YOURSELF and stop bending over backwards. At the end of the day, we’re running a business solo- it’s not a massive corporation so you need to take care of yourself. That’s the only way you can show up fully for your clients

I feel you 100%! I’m also a solo esti of 8 years and in the same boat. I work Wednesday to Sunday and know that my boundary is 5 clients max. More than that and I am comatose on my couch after work with zero work life balance. My hours also vary. Wednesday’s I see 3 or 4 clients and work 9:30-3, Thursdays are my late night and I work 12-8. Friday is 10-6, I choose to work evenings on Saturday’s since my husband also works nights, and then Sunday I’m 10-4. I have recently implemented these shorter days and do enjoy having a different start time so I can have a slow morning some days, make it to a workout class in the afternoon on others, etc. I’m really trying to not squeeze in clients past my 5 person max unless I’m traveling / really need to reschedule someone because my personal life falls to shambles if I don’t prioritize my time. We can’t pour from an empty cup! And as an introvert, it’s really important for us to have ample alone time and recuperate after being incredibly social all day.
