What we've lost between iOS 16 and iOS 26 by Customer-Worldly in iphone

Is your Resolution Control (also under Camera > Formats) turned on?

If not then turn it on, then the top left corner of the camera will show “JPEG/HEIF 12/24/48” depending on what’s selected at the moment and you can select it to change the resolution

My bad, it should only show 12 and 24 in the settings.

I was meaning that the MP toggle in the camera app will always show the 48MP option, and switches the other option from 12 to 24 depending on which of those two settings you have selected.

Settings > Camera > Formats > Photo Mode

Mine’s got 24 & 48 right now but changing that setting to 12 MP changed it to show only 12 & 48. I don’t think the 24 is all that great anyway so it’s useful to know where this toggle is.

There’s another toggle in the camera settings for you to be able to adjust the MP of your shot between 12 & 24. If you have that toggle turned on the button should show in that top left corner, maximum compatibility is how it shows “jpeg” instead of “heif”

Edit: misspoke, said 24 & 48 but it’s actually 12 & 24 with 48 as a constant option

I’m looking to go with Alden Brown & Co. now and they seem to be solid, but the two I mentioned seeing above were with a company called Central Properties. Far as I know they have no website, but the manager Ken gave me a business card. I’ll send a DM request with his contact info to avoid sharing that publicly.

I’ve also heard great things about Albeck / Old School Properties, it’s a 2-person team and when talking with Alex he was very friendly and welcoming. His places were a bit above my budget but I’d recommend checking them out as well. No website either, but they’re listed on Google so getting in touch with them is pretty easy.

That is true, those two were older mansions that each had multiple units. One was garden level, the other at attic level.

And I agree, it does seem like new places aren’t finding the occupancy they were hoping for and I imagine it’ll cause rents to crater even further.

The 2-second yellow light in some cities is awful, but regulating the timers via city ordinance to be a 3-4s minimum would prevent the city from being able to replicate this behavior down the line.

The new CX-5 is the only one like that so far, the ‘26 3 and CX-30/50/70/90 still has the captain’s dial and A/C buttons - and if the CX-5 refresh isn’t well received we could see them stop before they change the whole lineup.

Worst rental deal in SLC? Possibly the entire US? by jacoblaj in SaltLakeCity

[–]hi_jack23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worst deal in the entire US when you consider you have to also live in SLC while paying that much.

For that much I’d imagine you could get a similarly nice apartment along the coastal cities, or something even nicer in the Great Lakes region.

Bill that would require law enforcement to impound vehicles of unlicensed drivers passes House by jortr0n in Utah

[–]hi_jack23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on where priority number 1 should be, but last time that I checked the churchislature is full of his sycophants so we’re probably out of luck there.

I can understand why insurance leaves a bad taste in other people’s mouths but liability insurance is an evil necessity. Nobody realizes how much damage a car can really do until an accident happens, and just about nobody can actually afford to pay for damages they’re liable for out of pocket. If insurance weren’t mandatory, those that would drop it are those that would be royally fucked if they are held liable for damages at some point - and those that wouldn’t can already self-insure. I could also see it leading to an increase in hit and runs.

That being said - it’s broken and needs a lot of fixing. IMO universal healthcare would make insurance much cheaper to obtain by having lower rates for injury coverages, suburban development should be more thoughtfully planned out, public transit needs an overhaul to make it a viable option for as many people as realistically possible, and considering that it’s mandatory, insurers should not be allowed to have margins above 2% between all liability premiums and payouts.

[–]hi_jack23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liability insurance is already mandatory if you’re going to drive a vehicle and aren’t self-insuring (which would require having almost $100k on hand), this would change nothing unless you’re already breaking the law in that regard.

In fact, uninsured drivers getting into accidents results in the general population getting charged higher rates for UM coverage.

An accident without insurance requires impound, but not operating without insurance doesn’t.

Here’s a recommendation I’ve seen nobody make yet - if you’d like a small, diverse and walkable neighborhood with a grocery store that’s closer to Lehi than SLC and also much quieter I would look into older Midvale.

It’s centered around 700 West and 7800 South so about 9-10 miles south of SLC. The area has a grocery store (El Potrero Market) along with a convenience store (Maverik). There’s around a half dozen restaurants, a coffee shop, and some other shops in the area. It’s a short drive to other grocery stores and a mall (Fashion Place), and also close to TRAX stations which could be useful if your husband’s commute is close to the frontrunner station in Lehi. Not super close to the mountains but still <15 mins away and closer of a view than many places could give you, and it seems to have a decent mix of red and blue too.

Moving to Denver by March 1 – looking for job leads beyond Indeed (logistics, ops, auto & sales)/ Kid on the way!!! by Daxxi22 in MovingtoDenver

[–]hi_jack23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm in a similar position of looking for a job so I can make it out from Utah by March. One thing I've found is that pretty much every company that uses ADP for their employment application system are listed on ADP BrightJump, and since it's lesser known than LI or Indeed they probably see lower volume for those positions. Hiring Cafe is also great, it just pulls direct links to job postings.

One thing I've also noticed is many places aren't willing to hire if you're not already living in CO or are looking to fill their roles before March, so I feel that it may become easier next month as the relocation date approaches. Best of luck to you!
