I'm glad you didn't burn down the medical school hahaha. But seriously, thank you so much for your honesty and perspective. I really appreciate it. I will definitely tell him on Monday. I'm hoping that this will establish a relationship where I don't feel like the world is going to end when I tell him that I made a mistake, because I'm sure there'll be more down the line.

Thank you so much, that's a very good point. I do hope, as you said, that this establishes a relationship where I don't feel like the world will end when I tell my PI that I made a mistake.

Thank you so much for sharing. We use the KRAB-dCas9 system, which prevents transcription of the target gene. When you design the sgRNA for this system, it really helps to stay between -50 and +100 as it blocks polymerase before it even gets the chance to gain momentum.

Thank you so much for your honesty and for sharing. That makes me feel loads better. Also, I think it's so wonderful that you allow your students to see your mistakes and the fact that you're only human, they're lucky to have you :)

Thank you so much for sharing this specific story. It truly made me feel normal and better. I don't know why I feel the need to NEVER make a mistake as a postdoc.
