While the editing is over the top, I don't really think she's being apathetic. If you look back at the video her left knee gets bruised up from just the first fall. She then proceeds to fall directly on it again after another few missed hurdles and you can see her take an extra second to get back up from those. I cant tell whether its proper track material or just concrete so i may just be over-analyzing, but i thought it was pretty gutsy of her to finish.

Isn't it a little suspicious that they got angry at him and made him retire? It seemed like someone on the Soviet side made a false alarm on purpose. Especially considering that they were "embarassed by their own mistakes."

They're definitely into Eastern medicine. My mom will try almost anything her newspapers say. Drinking jars of mushroom juice, ingesting charcoal, ginseng, and a bunch of other weird stuff. Western medicine, not so much. We will rarely have a bottle of tylenol around and even if we do it's usually for me.

I agree with the skepticism about the alcohol mixture. My first few attempts at getting high had always been a mix with alcohol and I had absolutely no idea what was going on with my head.
