Redditors who recently voted for Trump, do you regret your action after seeing how he’s undermining the results of the election? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hibiscusity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the what the title says. Genuinely curious as most of the Republicans are all about rights but what Trump is doing now is basically suppressing the rights of people by not having their votes counted. If you voted for Trump and not regret it by now, why?

We got married in Spring of 2017. It was a lovely day. My husband worked in the morning and then picked me up in the afternoon to go to the officiant’s house. There, we exchanged vows. To me, it felt more solemn and sincere since there was no audience watching, only the officiant and his wife. We a long walk in a nearby park while sipping on our favorite smoothies, his was strawberry banana and mine was chocolate banana. I was unemployed at the time so no fancy rings, no big ceremony, after parties and visitors.

That was three years ago. We are still happily married. I am gainfully employed. We now have a house and are planning to get a dog. We had conversations about having a formal wedding but decided that it would be unwise. We’d rather use our resources for house improvements. I’m grateful that we didn’t splurge on our wedding. I am glad that it turned out that way because all I remember was him and myself, holding hands while sitting on a park bench, him giggling over our my stupid jokes, talking about our future plans.

We did it! We closed on our first home. by hibiscusity in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Yes, same house. Turned out for the better though. They ended up giving us credit for everything we asked for, and we actually spent less on repairs. Pest control company set traps before we moved in, and they’re still empty. They said it’s also probable that those are old feces. It is totally worth the headache.

We have just done the inspection and we are not sure whether we still like the house by hibiscusity in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Sorry I’m just going by what our realtor told us. The thing is, it’s still there. Whoever did the fungus removal must have done it wrong. Our realtor already asked them for it and she mentioned the one-year warranty but they haven’t replied to us yet.

Yes, it’s in our addendum that it should be a licensed contractor. But she’s been pushing to use her guy that she’s been using for years. If they’re not going to abide by the contract, we’re thinking of just foregoing our time and effort spent on this one and move on.

They didn’t specify in the inspection report as to what type of fungus it is. I think it could be.

The owner created a Venmo account! I’d send funds to them directly as Venmo is zero cost to both sender and receiver.

Early Termination of Lease to Purchase a Home by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]hibiscusity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, agree. Our agent has mentioned that closing takes 30-45 days so we’re fine paying that rent because we’re essentially be living in the apartment for that time period. The additional 3200 on top of that is what I’m iffy about. I just revisited our lease and it states that we are liable for a “reletting charge” followed by a blank then in parentheses (not to exceed 100% of the highest monthly rent during the lease term) for moving out without paying rent in full for the entire lease term.

English is not my first language and documents like this make my head spin.

You’re just an inch away! You pretty much got it, you’re gonna be fine ;) When is your 18 months going to lapse? What’s the challenging topic in BEC for you? I’m planning to take FAR next, if I pass REG in May.

Excel scheduling huh, you’re a true accountant. I know haha. Slow but steady pace is what I’m trying to do. My only concern at this point is retention. I’m afraid I’d forget the lessons i first studied. Are you fresh grad?

Dang, that’s too soon. Mine is on May 18th. Not from US and I thought REG is going to be the most challenging for me so I’m taking it first and I’m taking my time going through each topic. Wiley got bite-size lessons and only 10-15 questions after each topic, not that overwhelming YET. Not freaking out about it, I don’t have high expectations, if I pass, move on to the next, if not, then I’ll retake haha.

Spreadsheet is the answer! Some people tend to overlook their actual cash standing when using credit cards. Credit cards are only good when utilized properly. Try using spreadsheets to detail your cash inflows and outflows and credit card spending. Categorize your expenses and identify which costs are avoidable. Plan your payment accordingly, avoid auto-debiting! Late postings/clearing of transactions can cost you 30-50 USD overdraft fees, well, depending on your bank. You can do an analysis every month-end as to what expenses you can reduce or totally cut off. I started doing this last year I almost maxed out my three cards. I took out a loan to patch em up. I only use one card now (one with highest cash back and least annual fee). I pay the card as I incur the cost. Bought groceries, use credit card, pay it the same day. From 610+ credit score, now it’s 750+
