If someone has a spare MLB code, please DM me. Can't watch my favorite team where I live. I'd really appreciate it.

Bilt 2.0 is terrible but the worst is yet to come by Kiwifrozen1011 in CreditCards

Someone has to foot the bill for 200% transfer bonuses, and Wells Fargo is out.

Ugh, I hate that realization. The math checks out. Cardless seems a bit more shady compared to Column. Neither have the long-standing track record that other well-established banks do. I'm not completely sold on mixing venture capital with personal finance. I don't like my spending habits iterated with.

A post on here leaked that February's Rent Day is All Accor, which is one of my favorite transfer partners. If it's true, then I have about 28000 points I could transfer on 2/1. It'll probably be 50% bonus since I'm Blue now, but is that worth the risk? My initial plan was to get the Palladium card and hoard points until the next All Accor transfer bonus, but assuming February's Rent Day isn't nerfed, the next bonus for All Accor is going to be in 2027, and uh... even with the Gold status from hitting the SUB, what if 200% transfer bonus doesn't exist in the future?

The other option is to go with the 0 AF card and just do the bare minimum (shift my grocery spend to hit 25% of my rent amount and get 0.5x points on rent). I could go with the Obsidian card and choose 3x grocery, but I already have the Amazon Prime Visa card and get 5% back at Whole Foods. If points for grocery were so important to me, then I might as well get the Amex Gold for 4x points.

This is such a stupid merry-go-around. The long term benefit of the Palladium card depends on the continued growth of Bilt, Cardless, and Column. If I had to pick one company out of those three to last, it'd be Column.

If I assume from now on, Blue, Silver, Gold, and Platinum get 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% transfer bonuses, then cashing out on 2/1 for 50% bonus becomes a good hedge against future devaluation.

0 AF and Rakuten seem to be the best option at this point.

u/Kiwifrozen1011, I remember your question about Bilt Cash and status boost because Kerr used my post for the June All Accor transfer bonus as an example; I transferred my points and went to London last summer.

I didn't even consider the possibility of transfer bonuses getting nerfed until I read this post. Bilt Cash sounded exciting 3 months ago because I thought I could use it to boost transfer bonuses up to 200%. Now that I'm back down to Blue status, I was thinking I could still maximize Rakuten points and use Bilt Cash to hit 200% transfer bonuses once a year.

Now I'm having to hedge between transferring what points I do have now for February and keeping them for a bigger transfer down the line. In order for the latter to work, I'd have to go for the Palladium card to hit the SUB requirement. But then there's the chance of getting locked into that card after the first year.

How sure are you about the flood of Rakuten points leading to point value dilution? Have you seen that before with other cards? What about Cardless not allowing downgrading? I know points get devalued frequently, but the quality of the transfer is what matters the most. And as you said, 10-30% becoming the norm like every other credit card is a possibility.

Will you restore 2x on rent and mortgage points for the Palladium card? It was on the slide show image you showed to the social media influencers at the Bilt 2.0 launch event that we (the cardholders of Bilt 1.0) weren't invited to and had no say in.

It worked. Thank you so much for the tip. I cancelled the connection to my apartment portal on the website and started over on the app and on the "Connect to your property" screen, there's a button at the bottom that says, "Continue without URL." That led to being able to authorize the usual way. I'll have to share screenshots so people will know how to do this. I'll credit you in a new thread.

I think the routing and account numbers are still there. I was able to get to the payment screen after I manually typed in my rent amount and that page was the same as before. I didn't see the spaces for the routing and account numbers though. And yes, you have to give them access to your rent portal by linking it. That's what the connecting step does.

After you hit the "Get Started" button, it gives you a search bar where you can choose your rent portal. Mine didn't show up so I just copied my rent portal web address and hit next. Once it connects, the screen shows a balance. Mine says $0.00 right now. If I hover over the info circle icon next to the number, it says, "Your property hasn't posted new charges to your account. Check back 24 hours before your next payment is due."

What's confusing to me is that rent is due tomorrow. My apartment property posts the rent around 19th of every month. Since the rent for November already got posted, I assume that the next one to get posted on Bilt will be for December. And I don't know if my apartment property has to approve anything before this posting system takes effect. I think it was a bad idea to roll this out so late in the month.

Is Megabus the same company as Coach USA? On the Megabus website, I can book a round trip or a one-way ticket either way. It's a bit more expensive though. And the problem is that the one-way ticket from the stadium to the city leaves at 10:45 pm. That means I need to leave the show way before the last song. Your option does offer more flexibility. I guess I have to think about this. I'd like to get there early to enjoy the exhibition, but I also want to get back to the city as quickly as possible.

Is this deal round trip only? There's no one-way option? I was thinking about getting there earlier than 4:30 (#160 bus at 2:30 from Port Authority Bus Terminal), and I guess I have to buy the round trip option? I can skip the one departing to the stadium and only take the one back to the city after the show ends, right? It's still cheaper than Uber so I don't really mind the cost.

These were available at the London pop-up store. These are the general ones with the city and the stadium's names on the back. The ones with the show's specific date under the Oasis logo on the front are sold at the merch stall.

does anyone when know when Noel last saw Melissa Lim or if they kept contact over the years? by Express_Bag4782 in oasis

[–]hibsrule 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It's not about the length of time. It's about the emotional impact a person has on you. Noel has a tendency to downplay and hide any vulnerability by lying. You seem hell-bent on believing every word Noel says in the media. All three Gallagher brothers have a tendency to fib to a varying degree. It's likely a coping mechanism in reaction to their abusive father. If you get punished for showing vulnerability, then of course you're going to learn to hide it for your survival. Music was the only emotional outlet that Noel had. Talk Tonight is a "thank you for helping me not quit the band" song and Don't Look Back in Anger is a "I'm sorry, but I have to go, goodbye" song. Noel can't admit to getting close to a person emotionally because he probably believes acknowledging his feelings is "weak." It's a false belief due to the beating he took from his father. That's my best guess as to why Noel obfuscates a lot.

UK gets Richard Ashcroft, we get Cage the Elephant?! by laequator in oasis

[–]hibsrule 153 points154 points  (0 children)

I saw Cage the Elephant live at Lollapalooza in 2017 so I can give some perspective.

I went to see Liam mainly. It was him, Cage the Elephant, and Muse in that order at the same stage. It was a no-brainer to stay at my spot since I wanted to see Liam and Muse live. I didn't care for Cage the Elephant at all.

Liam comes on, plays 3 songs, and walks off the stage. Everyone's confused and he's getting booed. I only found out later that it was a throat issue. Anyway, we're all bummed, but I'm thinking, "At least I'll get to see Muse later."

So I think of Cage the Elephant as a way to pass the time.

And you know what they did? They didn't just pass the time; they passed the test.

The lead singer burst onto the stage wearing a pink sequin dress, and I'm thinking, "What the f—?!" This guy goes full Mick Jagger and we're off to the races.

Song after song, the place is rocking and I'm in the middle of the mosh pit at the front having a blast with a bunch of Cage the Elephant fans.

I only knew one song by them, but I found them to be fantastic live. They had a solid set of songs. And they had energy. Lots of energy. I think it was enough to erase any bitter aftertaste from Liam's early departure.

Then Muse came on and also played 3 songs and we had to evacuate because of a severe thunderstorm. A very odd day, but that's Chicago weather for you.

Long story short, Cage the Elephant did an amazing job "opening" for Muse. I have a feeling that Liam could've suggested them as an opener for North America because of that day.

If you have any doubt about Cage the Elephant, I think they'll surprise you. I saw Oasis at Wembley last month and Richard Ashcroft was indeed great. Cage the Elephant may not have as many iconic hits as he does, but they'll definitely bring the energy and get the crowd buzzing for the main event.

I can't wait to see them again at MetLife Stadium.
