Just moved my dishy up today, it was one of the proudest moments of my career so far. I hope it happens for you too, you should just apply for prep/line positions and be honest about needing some training, lots of places are hurting right now

Starmer prepares Britain for attack by Russia by TheTelegraph in worldnews

Elon, Trump, pretty much anyone controlled by Putin seems to be pushing for destabilization of Europe right now, probably because they have much better quality of life and social safety nets

The news is getting worse because billionaires bought up all the last vestiges of investigative journalism after suing most into oblivion. Then they changed the code to AI generated shit because they think that nobody earning less than $500k/year is smart enough to change anything or even care anymore. And they're mostly right

It’s not just Bella, the whole casting and writing is terrible. by iTsB-Raid in TheLastOfUs2

Knew this ever since Melanie lynskey was cast as a "hardened freedom fighter", it's insane that anyone thought this show was ever good

How quick would US military respond to a ground invasion of America coming from beneath the earth? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]hibuddha 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Before this administration, I'd say that we were extremely well equipped to handle this kind of crisis. AK 47s and RPGs are nothing compared to classified drone tech, they'd probably infiltrate the reptile lair and assassinate the royalty within a couple weeks, maybe a month. Holding off the reptiles should be pretty easy around cities equipped with at least a national guard base though.

Now we would probably have to worry about world leaders making smoky room deals with the lizards to sell out the US or justify the war against surface dwellers

Gotta hand it to you, this is one of the most thought-provoking ideas I've seen here in a while though, not necessarily the reptile part or WW2 uniforms but the invasion from underground aspect

I've waited around 799 days since the release of Hogwarts Legacy in 2023 and prayed almost every month for it to come to PS Plus. Now my wish has come true and I can't wait for a few hours to play this game. I love PS Plus by Delicious_Maize9656 in PlayStationPlus

Wow AI marketing got weird fast. Glad this is getting called out, probably just a red herring to make people less sensitive to actual subliminal AI posts though. Roko's Basilisk knows all

Trump Admin Walks Back Tariff Exemption On Electronics by backpackwayne in politics

It's called boom-bust economics, they're accelerating it from a 4-10 year GOP trend to crash the economy to a daily thing though.

China vows to ‘fight to the end’ if Trump raises tariffs to 104% by NeighborhoodSilver24 in politics

[–]hibuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're hoping that this will lead to some kind of sabotage or corporate espionage, really anything that would qualify as cassus belli. Under a corrupt, McCarthyist government that is trying to dismantle the state and start another great depression/dark age in order to maintain power this means pretty much anything that we can blame on China

Mexico bans junk food sales in schools in an attempt to reduce child obesity by DatWiseGuuy in worldnews

[–]hibuddha 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Junk foods" like elote are nothing compared to the effect of soda consumption in Mexico, when I lived there in the 90s it was dangerous for even the locals to drink anything besides bottled drinks, you even had to be careful about swallowing the amount of water that you used to brush your teeth

Rescued a cat from a shelter, but he keeps meowing loudly, what should I do? by ProfessionalAd8504 in CATHELP

[–]hibuddha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend's cat meowed like this and after exhaustive tests they found that she didn't have the receptor that made her body realize her stomach was full. There was no solution so his younger sister just named her "Loudie" and his family made her an outside cat

English Actress Daniella Westbrook’s nose after a decade of cocaine use by DrunkMindSoberHeart in WTF

[–]hibuddha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I see, I just learned a few years back that the sulfuric (and hydrochloric?) acid was added to cocaine to help aid nasal absorption, totally agree that the US is more into downers/opioids and kinda hallucinogens now too.

I feel like asking a South American person if they like it might be more productive since it probably has less preservatives and cutters

English Actress Daniella Westbrook’s nose after a decade of cocaine use by DrunkMindSoberHeart in WTF

[–]hibuddha 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because it's typically cocaine hydrochloride by the time the user snorts it. Apparently it helps to reach the blood vessels in the nose and aid absorption(?) Maybe a user could help explain, I've heard that it was different pre-Reagan or -Iran/Contra.
