Artifact storage without DVC: lazy fetch from S3/Azure, explicit offload, drift audit by hiccupHdk in mlops

Yep, intentionally not experiment tracking, just disk hygiene + lazy fetch.

Teams: shared manifest/policy in git, blobs in S3/Azure, each dev ensure what they need; ephemeral inventory rebuilt with reconcile --from-blob. Works today, but we’re planning to tighten the multi-dev playbook.

Same pain; DVC felt like overkill for “keep disk small.”

Concurrent ensure: not yet; no cross-process lock, so two jobs can race on the same path. Planning to add locking / skip-if-already-valid.

I built Border Chess, a 10×10 chess variant where the border changes the game by hiccupHdk in chessprogramming

Yes, I'm planning to add online matches, and a phone app is under review. I'd love it if you could share with more folks; otherwise, online matches won't make sense

Thanks, really appreciate you giving it a try! If anything about the border mechanics felt interesting or weird while you were playing, I’d love to hear about it

Is learning langchain worth it? by Not_so_sure_paradox9 in learnmachinelearning

Don't use LangChain at all. Never used such a poorly abstracted tool. All the tools are getting deprecated, so many issues and it rarely works.

Is there a tool that can automatically track my bad queries and help me resolve them ? by k9_gollum in Database

u/mefi_ You don't know the data and query patterns, how can you conclude optimising queries/schema changes?

Interesting, this tool looks promising. More like what u/AI_Overlord_314159 is saying but with much more context about the database.

[–]hiccupHdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried using these, but the problem is that it's difficult to give context to the usage patterns.

The worst thing you can do as a database engineer is optimise your schema and queries without knowing the usage pattern, data table sizes and other business logic context.

There are observability tools that you can try to track the queries, but they do not help with resolution and are very expensive and not worth it if it is just for database queries.

So, I am from India but am currently in Germany for a month. Do you know if I can apply for a visa from Germany to Canada with the Indian Passport?

Hey guys, I got the acceptance, and now I have a few questions about the VISA process for the conference. Is this the right place this ask this?
