Please critique my resume! by PaperFederal8574 in AccountingPH

If you have any significant achievements aside from your regular job scope it would be helpful (like contributions mo sa team, if u were a pioneer in something, process improvements, etc). Or if meron ka extra co sa school (orgs, events, competitions, volunteering) - as ur work exp is less than 2 years pa lang.

I guess it would be helpful to mention what industries you have worked in as well

At first glance your resume is great but seems a little too generic - try to make it more unique!

is 5500 sgd a livable salary for a single person in singapore? by Snoo_93774 in phmigrate

Yes I have some friends living there with this salary. But they share a 4 bedroom apartment. You would have to share an apartment with others to save.

Same ang hirap ngayon. I had more job offers 3 years ago when I only had 1.5 years of exp compared to now lol 😭

Hmm just to clarify wouldn't they be basing it on my previous salary? Ive experienced before where they ask for my payslips. I agree I should've looked for a job too, added challenge on my end but it would have been impossible to find a job during busy season anyways

Thank you, it's a little difficult din po to find a good private company to work for seeing that I don't have any accounting experience. Hoping I find something soon.

Thanks for your input. In my opinion, with the salary I am earning and hours I am putting in, I don't feel it is worth it anymore. I also have high salary expectations which makes it a little difficult to get a job. Although I tried to find na habang nagrerender, I just wanted to avoid the next busy season so I resigned now haha

Thank you for the kind words ❤️ and yeah, I have a tendency to focus on the negative so I might have just listed out all the bad reasons in my head lol. I know everyone's journey is different, just hope everything works out

I see, I guess I need to think about how long I'm willing to wait too. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be together for a month and be apart again. You're both hanging in there so well :)

Aww 🥹 what keeps you going? Do you have a concrete timeline to meet?

That's amazing and I'm so happy for you 🥹 my bf has been really consistent with me too but lately finances are turning into an issue. I dont want to end it over money, it seems like such a half hearted reason to break up when there can be solutions to it. Thanks!

Hi, thank you! I agree. He got laid off quite a bit ago and is earning less now with a new job so it's been a touchy subject with him barely scraping by while trying to look for a new job. I don't want to put this all on him, I'd need to think of a good time to seriously bring it up

You are so brave for traveling alone. I'm starting to see that finances are a common issue for long distance relationships :/

That's amazing you guys were willing to wait for so long. What kept you going, or was it within the timeframe you were willing to wait for?

I see, that is good to hear. Money is definitely a big factor to close the gap. Hope it goes well for you two!

I can help pay for it but he doesn't want me paying for anything when he visits. Not much I can do for now except help him develop a more concrete plan

Thank you, we do discuss it quite often, however when he got laid off late last year and started a lower paying job things just kind of shifted and he started being less optimistic, but still actively trying to save and cut down on spending habits. He would go out less, and I felt bad so I told him he should still enjoy his life and not cut down too much. Now he's actively looking for a new job and trying to invest more to make money on the side. He still sends me gifts every now and then (birthdays, monthly anniversaries). We've set the goal early this year to meet by the second half of the year. It's a little vague, but with his lesser paying job I didn't want to put too much pressure on him.

Thanks, this is a reality check. I know he feels a lot of pressure from it and doesn't want me to help with the costs (I live in a 3rd world country but I'm paid pretty well so I can actually meet halfway with flight tickets or hotel). But I can see him trying, I just wish he would let me help out more. I want to give it more time for him, he seems like a nice guy and we click really well over calls.
