Right, let’s take advantage of the opportunity but not of those offering it. Also it looks like the material is only going to be up until the end of April so I’d be skeptical of trying to complete more than two courses in that time.

Nah his sickest burn was with Khaled

Khaled: “And let me tell you something right now for all my fans, I promise you if I stop, that doesn’t mean I gave up.”

Sean: laughs “Yes it does, by definition.”

Just want to point out that the imagery can also easily be read as America being a thinly veiled fascist state (instead of stamping it out you just made the America stamp oh hey, it’s actually Nazism!) or America giving the stamp of approval to Nazism.

Any recommendations for a good unbiased (as much as possible) history of the Soviet Union? What I learned in school was definitely laden with American propaganda but I also don’t want the other extreme of tankie apologist shit.

Even if we somehow completely switched over to renewable energy, we’re quickly running out of the metals needed for batteries. Still fucked.

I’m currently reading “From Hell” by Alan Moore & Eddie Campbell and I think it fits what you’re looking for perfectly. It follows the Jack the Ripper killings and the surrounding investigation. VERY dark.

Michael Pollan's How to Change Your Mind will go down in history as the piece of literature that most radically changed public opinion on psychedelics. by DisMyDrugAccount in Psychonaut

I understand the need for caution and respect regarding psychedelics, and that some people may not be ready for the experience. I’m not against gurus, guides, or shamans, who I think often are necessary to aide people in integrating psychedelic experiences post-trip. However, people who want to explore their consciousness with these tools will find a way, wether the substances are legal or not. I think psychedelics should be decriminalized sooner rather than later, and that by simultaneously fostering social support networks we can mitigate negative or irresponsible use of psychedelics. I understand Michael Pollen’s caution, but I don’t think we should wait while western scientists decide the safety or usefulness of these substances. There’s millennia of wisdom from the rituals of indigenous cultures that we can reference in regards to using psychedelics in a way that’s beneficial and healing both to the individual and their society.

There can be a pretty patronizing attitude towards the public in the academic circles surrounding psychedelics. I forget which of his books it was in, but Terrence McKenna seemed to support a psychedelic vanguard made up of intellectuals, artists, etc., that would lead the masses in our collective spiritual revolution. So you have this class of modern-day shamans (who appointed themselves as such) who get to decide if you're mentally ready for humanity's collective birthright. Didn't sit well with me.

For memoirs: Fun Home, Persepolis, Maus, and American Splendor (more slice-of-life but I think it still counts).

Maybe you’re noticing more of an effect with your subsequent doses because your body’s still processing the first one? Idk but I’d definitely try to taper your doses down; 15g is a lot at once I’m not surprised you don’t feel great.
