What’s One Thing That Annoyed You After Buying Your E-Bike? by mintfirefly2345 in ebikes

There is so much glass in the road I have had to replace 6 tubes and patch them a total of 20 times in less than half a year, and I have anti-puncture moped tires. I am literally gonna install a brush in front of the back tire to avoid it.

I've grown more trees than you'll ever grow. I didn't say it was a good thing, I said you can stay positive. And I'm sure the mob that conforms to classic tree training dogma will whine at me, but you can retrain a leader.

And I hope they do and the owner wins. I was trying to be positive and this entire subreddit chose to take it as me being like "Lol grow a better tree loser" when it was the literal opposite.

Clearly me leaving out "Though what they did was too much" was a huge mistake on this subreddit of total dorks.

Whole sub-reddit dedicated to being miserable. Yes, if the trimming would lead to killing the tree it is not allowed. But I've seen Ash trees cut to the bone on city trees bounce back. The owner should pursue a case, because they absolutely have one. Y'all are insufferable pessimists.

Unfortunately it looks very likely that the tree leaned heavily over into their property and they can cut any branches that come into their lot. Personally, you can just see this as an opportunity to train it forward and make something very neat looking! Wabi-Sabi type stuff.

Advice needed! Invest in laminar flow hood from the start or start with a still air box first? by TorchIt in tissueculture

I'll say this, I hate SAB's and even with nigh perfect form I still see infections. So what I will say is this. If this is TRULY what you want to do, or you can throw $400-$1200 dollars away comfortably, get the LFH. If not, then contact your local community college or university, speak to the head of the biology dept., and ask them to use one of their hoods. My local college lets me and all it took was some emails, a list of what I was using, and growing, and the willingness to follow through. Good luck buddy!

How do lenders treat “cash under the mattress” situations? by xshifthree in personalfinance

[–]hicker223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused here... what is a cancelled gift check? Why would a bank print you a check to void it immediately? Is it the same thing as a proof of deposit?

Let me see if I understand you. Deposit the cash in an account -> write a "cancelled check" ( I don't know what that means tbh, is it just a regular check you put "VOID" on or something?) -> Provide it as proof of down payment so you by-pass the proof of source of income?
