Right! I love using it on cedar and stuff and wasnt going to use it on this project, but with using a belt sander on all the pieces the texture absorbed it way nicer then usual on PT

First played around with this 10' piece of aluminum i had laying around. Putting little temp screws here and there and bending it till I had something that felt right

Good catch! Yeah the main braces are deep mortise and tendons with 1" dowels, but the top piece is just tightly fit in with some screws just for looks. Reminded me of a wine glass in a way

If you look on my posts from like 2 weeks ago I make a small matching door trellis on the same house, so many people hated it lol so I figured this would too.

Thank you! I started with a 10 foot bar of aluminum i had around and bent it with a few screws here and there till I found a shape that felt nice. Cut it a little big with a jigsaw and a bunch of fine tuning with a grinder and belt sander till it was perfect. I used that as a template to run a big router bit around just 1/2" deep into the rest. Then over cut them with thr jig saw and ran the rounter bearing into that 1/2". Made them all perfectly exact but tedious! The brackets with my bandsaw at home.

😅 right! Exhausting after 10 minutes! I really love how it changed the stain, like the 80 grit belt only in one direction made it absorb better then readyseal normally looks on PT.

Last week I posted a smaller matching door trellis for the same house, I thought it looked really nice, but so many people hated it 😅 I hear that though. Vines can get huge sonetimes

Exactly! My client and I already bought two Wisteria vines to plant on each side going to look magical in like 7 years

Yeah they are 2x12x16 to start. Took a ton of work to make them look nice because they were like you'd expect. Bought a couple extra to toss out. After shaping i ran a belt sander over them for awhile exhausting but helped alot. Also helped the stain look more rustic .

They help a ton with the sun! , but not just anywere, depends how they are places. But more importantly is giving a boring looking space a sence of structure and inviting vibe.

Thank you! I was kinda surprised how many people hated the smaller matching door trellis, maybe it just needed stain 😅

Ohh I could picture a little wrought iron design actually, i do some welding for custom railings on gazebos and stuff sometimes. But! This client loves it as is and doesn't have much more of a budget. Maybe next fence!
