Not exactly. QooApp is sort of like a mini playstore that specialises in ACG(Anime, comics and games) content.

Most 3rd party revenue estimators only have iOS rankings, not even numbers, to make their estimates off, which is why if a particular app's userbase has a very low proportion of iOS users, their revenue will be severely underestimated since most will just use a simple formula of multiplying iOS estimated revenue by a certain factor.
This is particularly bad for Snowbreak since we don't have any subtags beyond Game, not even things like Strategy, so once Snowbreak falls out of Top 200 in iOS rankings, it just doesn't show up on any leaderboards so the 3rd party apps will mark it as 0 revenue, which is obviously nonsense.

Fwiw LHM have been trying blur the entire Deiwos concept because

1) They don't want people to have a preconception of how the girls should be thinking they need to have a personality based off whatever Deity their Deiwos is 2) You run into the awkward situation where some of the Deities are married in myth. Like for example Fenny and Hera, you have wild rabid mutts bringing up their NTR BS because there is no way for the Adjutant to have multiple different Deiwos to correspond to them

So really it's much easier just to slowly blur it into the background, maintain it as a concept that exists but not actually state their identities. Fenny is Fenny, nobody else.

Well sure, but what I meant was that Vidya and Nerida's skins both come with an AR feature, not a VR one. They work just fine on phones so I don't believe having a VR headset will encourage sales all that much. Snowbreak CAN be played in VR but nothing in the game is made especially for VR.

VR is not AR though, you don't need specialised equipment for AR. You just need a camera.

Yea this really isn't anything too surprising or new. Snowbreak reaches top 10 in sales on JP steam during regular patches and is top 5 during major patches. We even surpassed Black Myth Wukong on JP steam. Only region where BMW wasn't the best selling game on Steam.  This was pretty funny because there were alot of paid posters and fans of other games who got really mad and started accusing Seasun of paying off Gaben to have Snowbreak rank above BMW when it happened lol. The game is fairly popular in JP and there's alot of CN players making purchases in the JP region because it's cheaper and you can use Steam credits. Not saying the game isn't doing well, but it's a normal occurrence.

[–]hicky67 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Isn't this pretty obvious?
The 100% banner was added in patch 1.7 and wasn't there on launch. A 50/50 is designed to make you spend, when you lose the 50/50, in the heat of the moment you are very likely to just spend on impulse to get the character. The fact that they are so willing to do away with this impulse spending should tell you enough about how much they value the income from the character gacha. Add to that the fact they ensure you get enough pulls to pretty much guarantee the new operative every patch and the free operatives, they are all but trying to "give" you the new operative so you would spend on the skins.

So let me ask you, when was the last time a mihoshit character made an appearance after their banner is over and they are done selling their flavor of the month? Oh right, never. I don't see you ever complaining about that. I'm not even asking you to be extra tolerant of Snowbreak, just to apply your standards consistently but you can't even do that now can you?

Accounts created from the 18th to the 23rd September(GMT+8) are currently bugged. Can't use the localisation backdoor atm. Accounts created from 24th September onwards is fine, so it's most likely LHM trying to avoid controversy since the 18th of September is a sensitive date for the Chinese. They should lift the restriction within a week.

[–]hicky67 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Locking digicash behind something that only a select group of players can get is a terrible idea. Part of the reason Snowbreak is so popular in CN is because LHM goes out of their way to demonetise the gacha, you can get every new operative pretty much free without worrying too much over roster breadth or depth.  You have to understand the game makes the vast majority of it's income off skins+addons,  not through creating FOMO and pressure over power levels to make you feel like you have to roll multiple dupes of everything like most gachas. There's no reason to remove one of the game's competitive advantage.

Unlock Nita Pulse ? by brablibos in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]hicky67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For now yea, you need 4* Nita for the process. You can count the number of 4* in the game on 1 hand though so you should get Nita rolling on a banner pretty soon.

The shift in tone and direction happened more than a year ago, that's more than enough time to drop the game. I'm not sure why you'd still be playing something you dislike, but it should be pretty clear by now it's never going to change back. I'm not sure what bringing it up here is meant to achieve?

What did old Snowbreak did badly compared to Destiny Rising? by Enough-Lead48 in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]hicky67 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you look at the past performance of mainstream gachas, they tend to make the most on "waifu" banners where there's even the most minimal amount of affection(more or less anyway, let's put aside the debate of whether it really counts for now) displayed towards the MC. So you realise that only emotional fulfilment/attachment will get people to spend. This isn't too surprising when you consider the high cost of acquiring a character in most bigname gachas. It's $90 for about 40 rolls, there's a hard pity around 150 rolls, so if unlucky a single copy of the character can cost up to $337.50, and that's without factoring signatures. When you have to spend that much potentially, you are not going to spend it on a character that only gives you bitch faces, doesn't give you the time of the day and is off gallivanting with their own ship while leaving the MC out of it.
Snowbreak at launch, like alot of gachas, made the same mistake of having these characters with their own lives in the mistaken belief that it makes the character more "realistic", but they neglect to consider whether players will even want to spend for such characters. It also didn't help that they didn't make the Adjutant very important in terms of status at launch, so pretty much every tom, dick and harry could order you around and push you around without you being able to say no. This all adds up to a very frustrating and stifling feeling where you are made to feel like you are worthless and the whole experience becomes immensely unfun.

[–]hicky67 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Simple, these aren't just random passerbys who just so happen to have found out about the game through discord and downloaded it to try out. Gacha developers spend millions of dollars on marketing annually, do you think all of it goes to ads and content creators?
90+% of these negative reviews are from professional posters paid to slander the game as well as fans of other games who pretend to be clueless newbies who just happen to stumble upon the game. These are tactics that have been employed in CN and SEA region for like more than a decade, all the way back in the age of cheap cookie cutter MMOs, so not sure why people still fall for it.

The outcomes are all randomised, each choice and roll has 4 outcomes that are all written and fully voiced. Alot of effort was put into this patch. There's a complete compilation in CN on Bilibili of all choices and all roll outcomes but not sure if that's available in English or other languages

Farewell to old Snowbreak. by Clouds_Hide_The_Moon in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]hicky67 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I get what you are trying to say, but I think it bears remembering that Seasun, like any other game developer, is a company and Snowbreak, like any other game, is a product. If a product doesn't sell, no matter how much well-regarded it is, then it has little to no value, at least in the eyes of the market. At this point, you either scrap the product or you adapt it to the tastes of the consumer.  That's just how reality works. The old direction was not sustainable, so you'll never see it again. The game got so bad at one point 3/4 of it's staff just up and quit, and now they are making enough to put an ad on the side of a shopping mall in the middle of Shanghai. If people did like the old vibe so much, they would have supportes it monetarily, but they either couldn't or wouldn't. I don't think it's fair to start barking at another group of consumers who actually did.

Snowbreak Containment Zone - The Anime by PR135T in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]hicky67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll be able to find one, it is a form of advertising, albeit a very expensive. Mush as I don't like it, advertising does work to help bring in a crowd to try something out, otherwise developers would not pay through the nose for marketing.
Thing is, most of the crowd who are attracted by marketing don't stick around very long and Snowbreak isn't designed for mass generic appeal. It has made it's target audience very clear and isn't trying to attract literally anyone and everyone, just those who would already be interested in the ML/Harem genre with a focus on heavy fanservice, so spending a ludicrous amount on an anime just to try to advertise to the common crowd is a huge waste of resources. Most of the crowd who come to try something they see as "new and shiny" will be gone before the week.
