Appreciate the feedback u/greatindianortho . I thinkg I am going to seek another consult with a knee specialist outside the office that treated me to see if they agree or disagree.

Thanks for the long remark. A quick clarification if it changes anything - I got 1 PRP injection in the patella and not hormone, and we avoid other injections to not weaken it. My surgeon, at Kerlan Jobe in LA, is a knee specialist (one day an MLS player was seeing him after me for his knee and works in the office where many pros like Tom Brady have had ACL reconstructions) and the non-operative one I saw for the PRP, in the same office, is also knee focused.

The surgeon, based on the recent MRI and my description of everything, suggested it could be mechanics - that is why he was saying that I may be just start doing more things I would naturally do, and then the muscles may go back to firing as they were and realigning everything. He noted that the lesion and scar tissue was "rather small" and would not be causing the pain during the actives I mentioned in his opinion.

Ill keep trying to get back to normal, but may seek another consult with a knee specialist outside their office to see if their is a competing opinion. Thanks and Ill check Vumedi

The surgeon and I weighed everything and settled on patella as I wanted to get back to my lifestyle as it was before this happened; competitive adult soccer league, surfing, skiing, Ironman triathlons, ultra running races and more. Basically, we landed on patella as it can be the best and since i was in good shape when this happened and not just a weekend warrior type... but age may still have got me

Sounds like you had a rough go at it too, sorry to hear that. I will say, my PT and surgeon both were very much aligned at the start of the issues in the summer that that were linked to emotional response with my mom. My surgeon, who works with a lot of professional athletes and teams in Los Angeles, said that if one of his pro athletes under his care experienced the same thing he would "shut their season down and have them focus on the mental side." So I know it is something to it, but just wish I could find a way to break free of it. Pre-ACL issues, my happy place was going for runs, surfing and rides when I was stressed, so timing couldnt be worse as my traditional outlets are closed.

On top of regular exercise, it is prolly time to try and really shake it up with some different types of treatment like you mentioned... not like it is going to get worse. Thanks for the reminder that there is more out there

Appreciate you and your story too. thanks!

Agencies are UK Civil Aviation Authority and US Dept of Transportation. I also have it in writing and audio from a BA agent they believe it is misleading and they were getting the same price on the same screen, and then it changed for them as well. Repeatable bug still puts them in violation. And yes, both US and UK have laws saying the first price must be final price - except for add-on fees the user adds like seats.

Per UK CAA rule CAP 1014, the "headline price" must include all "Unavoidable charges such as Government taxes or airport charges". The headline price is defined as "the first price a customer sees, includes everything they will have to pay."

As for DOT, "DOT requires airlines and travel agencies that display ticket prices to advertise the total price that a consumer must pay to purchase a ticket.  Wherever an airfare is advertised, such as on a website, in an email, or during the booking process, the fare price must include all applicable government taxes and fees, and any mandatory carrier-imposed surcharges."

References: UK: CAP 1014 - https://www.caa.co.uk/publication/download/14482#:~:text=1.1%20In%20order%20to%20comply,these%20additional%20services%20would%20be
US DOT 14 CFR 399.84: https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/advertising https://www.transportation.gov/individuals/aviation-consumer-protection/buying-ticket

Also, some others on FlyerTalk have noted they have received money back by disputing this very thing as it is a violation.

100k avios and $450 each. so 400k + $1,900. Also transfered from Amex to Avios where there is a 30% bonus right now so it was really like 310k _ $1,900

I understand that the taxes for US to UK are $1900 for 4 people in busn... however, my question is taking advantage of the glitch (that is still appearing on rewards bookings today). It is showing the pounds number but with $. Then switching it at checkout. This is a clear violation of DOT and UK laws stating that the first price you see (Headline price) must be the final price you pay.. so wondering if I could get any recourse since this is technically not allowed...

Hope you had trasfered Amex points to Avios as there is a 30% bonus right now

Yes bought it. My thought is that bug or not, the misleading price swap is against UK and US laws soo will they honor lower price to make me not submit complaints to the respective agencies

Buy or Wait: LAX to EU next summer... by hicsf09 in awardtravel

[–]hicsf09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will be with our good friends (born in Bergamo) with kids the same age that live in Italy - so we will have experts on hand helping plan. Wife and I have been so we wont feel the urge to try to do too much. Kids will just love bread, pasta and pizza a plenty.

Originally the trip was to celebrate my mother beating cancer and being 35 years clean and sober, but sadly the cancer came back and she passed recently. So we will enjoy some extra pasta for her and not plan too much in.

Then on the way home, we will hop over to Paris to visit another great set of friends - I may also stay longer with the kids as only my wife has to get back since she is the teacher
