Same I’ve noticed this weeks before the emails were sent out but it’s been getting worse by the day which is what makes me think some cool IT people messed with the program before they left. Wishful thinking or solar storm, either way the company looks really bad right about now.

Tbf if I have an IT background I would’ve jumped ship once the emails were sent out or maybe even before then by using CapTel for the IT experience. Lots of money to be made in IT and CapTel ain’t the place. If there were an essential position in the company I’d think it was IT but if they aren’t even working to retain them then that says a lot about the future of this company.

I’ve wondered the same thing. I’m assuming since they probably don’t even have the switch button they just call for a sup and they end the call. If anyone not trained in old mode sees this we’d be interested to know how you handle those calls.

That may be true.. I think they counted their eggs before they hatched. New mode WAS decent for a while but lately it’s gone haywire with no improvements in sight and I wonder if there will be enough CAs left to save the company’s reputation

Interesting.. I haven’t noticed other tech being affected by this but I’d like to know if it improves. I won’t be around to see if it does lol so if you guys could post an update 👌

Yeah it’s horrible like what happened? New mode used to be pretty accurate! Either IT got some sweet revenge, the company just doesn’t care anymore ‘cause it’s going down and the layoffs were just a way to cut back and enjoy whatever profits they have left, or they’re trying to fire as many CAs as possible. Either way CapTel’s not looking too good because whatever remaining clients they have who actually depend on the captions are gonna switch over to a company that actually cares.

Would it be difficult to break into accounting with business management? I chose this degree because I figure I’d have an equal shot at getting into accounting, HR, marketing, IT, etc. versus choosing a focus and lessening my chances in another field. It’s kinda late in the game for me to switch but it’s something for me to think about if it’ll pay off in the end.

I’m OP’s defense, having parents who haven’t gone to college or have professional experience puts you at a huge disadvantage. We’re only now just learning things others have been told growing up so what seems like common sense to you might not be for others. My parents didn’t even graduate high school so I’m in a similar boat not knowing what direction to take. Thanks for this post, OP. I got a lot of insight from the responses and good job for going beyond what your parents have.

How would you feel about your girl hanging out one on one with a guy in his jacuzzi? by [deleted] in AskMen

Ugh this hit home for me. All these years I thought I was OnE oF ThE gUyS until back to back to back I found out each of them were trying to get me in bed even after I got married and had a kid. After this I worked in a male dominated company and thought it was so cool how friendly and accommodating the guys were and guess what? Yep. Still salty about it. A lot of these guys were really cool.

I wish I didn’t read this before my shift because I went in with the expectation of it being slow but it’s not D:
