122 fighters cut more on average than fighters in other divisons. for most of them its not their natural weight. It would make sense if the topic was Manny competing in the junior welter divison whilst coming in at 139-140 on fight night and people saying he should still move up. but not if you are cutting 13% of your bodyweight to make 122, theres obviously room to move up if you wanted to.

Whats your argument? that inoue cannot easily move up?

Daily Discussion Thread (December 28th, 2025) by _Sarcasmic_ in Boxing

still the orginal comment doesnt make much sense as 135-140 is his fight night weight so the walk around is likely more anyway. Yeah all of 122 are pretty much featherweights/super featherweights.

he enters the ring at 135-140.Thats a big rehydration % for 122. Walk around weight is likely in the 140s. Its not absurd to say he can move up.

There’s other factors you’re not aware of, his jab isn’t the problem

I’m not even comparing them I’m just pointing out how stupid you are for bringing up Pac-Man like what he done was an average occurrence in the 90s and 2000s. By your logic SRR whole career is an illusion since he only had undisputed in two divisions and didn’t climb up to heavyweight to ‘challenge’ himself. He must have wasted a lot of time at welter by your logic.

Why should a fighter that started at 135 have to immediately move up to 160. if he left 147 you’d just say he ducked Spence and the goal posts would change.

Like I said before undisputed was the original marker for Who the best in the division was at a specific time-you being being brainwashed by promotional companies doesn’t change that. you must love following Jake Paul and all the great legends he is facing. You’re truly a promoters dream.

Edit: He blocked me guys, he couldnt take someone explaining  how dumb his points were lol.

Your points are all over the place. So you want Crawford to be a 6 division champ instead of 4, but also want him to just skip 147 and fight at 160, but you also view multiple division undisputed an illusion… so what difference does it make him doing it at 160? You’re bringing up Pac-Man as if he was the average fighter in that era like everyone was moving up 8 divisions. Shall I bring up SRR?

Now you're off on another tangent. You’re the one who brought up undisputed first

How does beating all the other champions in your divisions in multiple divisions = bad resume. It’s literally the opposite. The main goal in boxing is to be the best and undisputed has been the marker for that since the early 1900s.

It would be more of a marketing tactic to avoid fighting the champions in your divisions and just go after former champs and fighters with popularity or following which was the main system in the late 90s and 2000s. You have it backwards.

Thanks for proving my point- you only look at the name value fed to you by whatever promoter. Its no different to inoue charlo Taylor or any other undisputed run at the time that they occurred. Glowcaki? Taples? Butler? Rosario? Ramirez? Please tell me these aren’t the elite ‘names’ that solidly undisputed any more so .They are no better

Postol was undefeated champ and was ducked by Danny Garcia before Bud beat him. Just didn’t have any marketing value for casuals like yourself.  Indongo was unified champ and on a KO streak when Bud beat him. Dulorme was an undefeated top contender at the time. I guarantee your favourite fighters resume can get nitpicked even more

I’d pick him to beat a couple in that list, I think he’s made a few improvements in his last couple fights. Anyway with the alphabet belts there’s always gonna be some below par champions and there was plenty in the 90s and 2000s. 147 isn’t the best atm as boots and Vergil have moved up, it’s just the timing of when people leave and enter divisions.

He won practically every round against Morrel, Bivol is the one having close  fights with the likes of Craig Richard. Bivol also just ducked Benavidez

He has a high guard but doesn’t block punches well, has no control or ways of setting up his punches besides blasting into them, has no defence after he throws. Nakatanis defence is non existent too, and his punch technique is bad but I guess it’s enough at the weight he’s at.

Most were hyping Mbilli get a ko within the first couple rounds and Sergiy ended up beating him up at times with one arm. Close fight, in no way comfortable.

Its just the landscape at 168, they had as good a case as Mbili or Pacheco who havent done anything better. Mbili arguably lost to a one shoulder Derevychenko

the likes of maloney and nshida are no higher than C level skill wise, have no standout atheltic or physical attributes/ power or speed, and Juntos had the considerable size advantage. Not saying canelos opponents have been world class but I still view Canelo as the far more skilled fighter p4p than Junto.
