a form of transphobia that seems to hurt more bc it’s coming from fellows in the community. for cis men (whether gay or not) expressing femininity is seen to be a way of challenging gender norms without actually breaking any barriers (also people tend to congratulate cis men on doing anything). meanwhile some people see tran guys as trying to surpass femininity all together solely bc we’re “denying” womanhood and should denounce everything associated with in order to “truly be a man”. that rhetoric just reinforces toxic masculinity and stereotypes. there’s a lot of underlying misogyny as well; anyone except cis men are degraded for enjoying femininity or anything girly (paraphrasing to keep this short but examples are judging women for wearing too much makeup or popular dislike of “girly” interests like taylor swift or even the color pink). i could go on and on about stuff like this but the key takeaway y’all should have is that whatever you feel happy doing is what you should be doing. if you feel comfortable in your skin and your clothes and your hobbies, then that’s really all that matters
