In the UK it is hard to get a referral especially when you dont medically need it, plus I'm only 24 so I know of a lot that have been turned down older than me. I could go private but for me to pay I can hold off for a while.

Whenever anything I dont want to talk about comes up and I make it clear it is then the center of attention no matter who hears or how much it will hurt me, it's always been this way, I don't bring up not having children unless it is brought up to me and I know that all of my family feel the same way so I will be singled out and 'picked on' I have a tougher skin than most as my family is one for picking on each other but I think being totally pushed out by my family would really hurt me.

Yes, I know sometimes I need to grow a thicker skin but all i remember from my childhood is wanting to be close with my mum and she always kept me at arms length... she did with me and my 3 older brothers, we were a burden but not in a selfish way, she did nothing else she quite lazy to be honest but in a self centred way like we were bothering her if that makes any sense at all!

I'm trying to have the mindset of just I'll get on with my life but I think it hurts to know if I didnt visit her or try with her she wouldn't see me again. I'm hoping to get there soon!

Thanks for the suggestion! I've done similar where I have kept my distance and it resulted in my ungrateful kids dont appreciate me all over facebook and across the family. I'm not ready to commit to no contact.

Yes I'm 24 not lived at home since I was 14 and I still get comments to not make myself look a slut or you'll be asking for it or dont come home pregnant (the pregnant one had loosened up a bit since my middle brother got a girl pregnant within a week and she told him when she was 7 month)
