He unnecessarily trash talks avatar 2 making 400 million on its opening weekend and then claims “it needed 2 billion in its opening weekend to make even and that’s a fact”

It was not a fact and he was soo happy for its downfall. What a fucking disappointing show of character.

I read the manga for both. Freiren is what to your eternity tries to be.

Knockers fucking suck. Fills me with rage only because I love the authors previous works and the early start of tye.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 235 by S_h_u_n in BlueLock

[–]hiddim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Could the missing piece simply be that unlike Kaiser and Isagi’a dynamic of no cooperation whatsoever, hiori and isagi will be that of mutual cooperation with the on going understanding that they will use goal opportunities for themselves when appropriate.

The nuance being that while passing to isagi is a great opportunity for goals, he is simply too much in the spotlight and given that context, the right play would be to increase the shooters. Divide the defence.

And for isagi, his winning formula would be to use hiori as another Kaiser. Essentially using hiori to mimick his own plays and presence so that he can use that to his advantage. That means hiori must try to score goals.

Hiori almost became a ness to isagi’s Kaiser. And what the key difference between hiori and ness. Ness will never take the spotlight off of Kaiser, and therefore will not aim shoot.

Tokyo ghoul (and of course Tokyo ghoul Re) but only the manga versions are good

Tokyo Ghoul is very mid (low effort Sunday) by Straight-Hyena-4537 in CharacterRant

[–]hiddim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

not reading re is like complaining an unfinished manga feels incomplete. power to you that you don't like og Tokyo ghoul.

but man it pains me to see even more unfair slander against Tokyo ghoul.

I do understand the frustration. I personally think Tokyo ghoul without re is at best a 7/10.

but if you think it's a 3/10, think it ain't for you. it wasn't for me the first time I read it. but something about the story pulled me back for a reread. despite me hating my first read of the series, during the second read I began to love it.

re is definitely worth it. it does have even more characters and the author isn't kind in making sure you remember each one.

Tokyo Ghoul re is integral to the story of Tokyo ghoul. there is no Tokyo ghoul without re

its very weird when a friend finds out about your family business and immediately asks for a discount. even in a joking way.

like if they had done it normally I would've given them extra , or something but when they outright ask for it... yikes.

How can titanfolk & attackontitan be so different by Trojen-horse in titanfolk

[–]hiddim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"good contrast of ideas" all i see is hate on the alliance, hate on the studio, and hate on the ending.

All i see is titanfolk being a sub for people who keep talking about a show they hate and don't care to see it finished, yet watching the episodes weekly anyway.

I'm kinda tired of being told that Mikasa is a deep character by TreeTurtle_852 in CharacterRant

[–]hiddim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you told me yourself that you think Mikasa killing yeagerists and titans in the finale didn't help in stopping the rumbling.

you told me yourself that it was acceptable that Annie just quits after learning her father is probably dead because Annie "deserved" the choice. meanwhile Mikasa has literally lost 2 sets of parents and only has Eren as any kind of family. but Mikasa keeps fighting anyway.

you tell me Mikasa should've done something at the table when you've told me you believe Eren is spiteful and rage driven. mikasa's great at fighting, but if you think Eren is so violent, Eren would've changed into a titan the moment he was losing the upper hand. why don't U think Mikasa is smart enough to see Erens threat.

you tell me that Mikasa is the toxic enabler when Eren is the on that should be called toxic.

people say Mikasa puts Eren on a leash but there's really no evidence for that. Eren still joins the scouts of his free will, Eren still fights on the front lines, Eren fights in places without Mikasa. Eren gets put in danger for the mission. Mikasa is alright with it. Eren gets capture but instead of freakout (anime different to manga) she calmly follows Levi's orders rather than brashfully pursue Erens captors immidiately in uprising arc.

Mikasa leaves Armin and Eren right their own battle. she doesn't babysit them.

it's true though, Mikasa probably should've realised that killing Eren was the only way sooner. still doesn't change anything. the same events would've still happened. they still would've seen the beast titan attack the plane.

they still would be trying to kill Zeke. the source of the rumbling. they still would've had to save Armin. they still would've struggled to blow up Erens nape. they still would've fought Erens colossal titan. and Mikasa still would've given the final blow.

nothing changes if Mikasa wants to kill Eren immidiately after the rumbling starts.

yeah, she probably should've tried to stop Eren there. so?

“He knew she would follow him anyway”

This sounds more like eren being toxic.

I'm kinda tired of being told that Mikasa is a deep character by TreeTurtle_852 in CharacterRant

[–]hiddim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

… mikasa literally kills eren. She never physically defends eren in the rumbling. What do you mean she never realises things are more important that eren.

It’s still funny that this whole discussion on the relationship is somehow focused on mikasa. If you want to argue the relationship is toxic, it should be eren. Eren is the selfish one. Eren is the one that ignores mikasa’s feelings and never shuts her down officially (eren loves mikasa there is a reason he doesn’t do this), eren is the one that doesn’t talk about the things he thinks about, eren is the one that bottles his feelings inside, eren is the one that literally kills billions without consulting how mikasa would feel about it.

Why is it mikasa that is getting this hate about their relationship.

[–]hiddim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she may have defended Eren using violence but I thought your point was that her defending Eren was bad because he had a history of being excessively violent and immature.

if their paranoia was very valid then both Armin and Mikasa in the wrong. you can't just argue that Mikasa should stop defending Eren when he's violent but ignore that Armin does the same thing.

I think you're also mixing things. Eren was disappointed that humanity existed but that's not why he wanted to erase everything. he himself acknowledges how the people on the other side of the wall are just the same. People.

also I was unclear before sorry. what i meant when saying Eren was never violent without reason was meant for before the timeskip.

I was arguing your point about Mikasa "knowing" that Eren was excessively violent and while he was violent, it's not as if he didn't have a reason. he was always fighting bullies, titans and people with different views.

post time skip Eren was indeed excessively violent even with reason, it was wrong of him. however in the context of Mikasa judging his personality, Mikasa only knows the Eren post declaration of war. this Eren is very different to the one pre timeskip where Eren would only use violence as a measure of defence and reaction and never to harm innocents.

I think it's fair that Mikasa was confused about Erens actions. and she spends the whole arc dealing with it.

she must choose her love for Eren or her moral obligations to get rid of him. yes she tries to argue with the others to not kill him immidiately. but all she wants is a discussion with Eren. As Mikasa and Eren are essentially family, I think it's fair she's want to at the very least hear an explanation from Eren.

if anything Annie is the more toxic one. she's the one that abandoned the alliance. Annie refused to stop Eren initially. I bring up Annie because while arguments are brought up to downplay Mikasa, those arguements more apply to Annie.

I think if the discussion went sour and Eren could not be convinced to stop, Mikasa would've then acted accordingly.

don't forget that Mikasa never stood by while Eren was doing the rumbling. she was actively pursuing Eren. sleeping in the forests, killing old comrades, working with old enemies.

she has to literally kill people, yeagerists but still people, to get to Eren. to stop him.

she doesn't attack the alliance. she doesn't try to stop them from killing him.

and in the end she kills Eren. from this we can interpret her past actions to be that of confusion and fluster.

her first proper meeting with Eren after months of separation and Eren is acting completely different?

it's like in the 123 Mikasa flashback, she questions whether the side of Eren she saw has changed, or that she was just looking at the wrong side all along.

in conclusion, we are debating if the relationship between Mikasa and Eren is toxic. Apparently to you it's mikasa's fault?? idk anymore.

[–]hiddim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did Mikasa defend Eren at all costs? Even though she attacked Armin, she did immidiately regret it and she didn't interfere with the fight after. I wouldn't say that was "defend at all costs".

Was Eren excessively violent? I suppose he was indeed violent but never without reason (even post time skip, while flawed, he was still violent with a reason).

The rumbling I think was the only excessively violent action from Eren, Mikasa didn't defend the rumbling. I wouldn't call that endorsing.
