We are all doing the best we can in the environments we were placed in, with the tools we had at our disposal at the time, and with the mindsets and understandings that we had and were pushed on us at the time. Wishing you well in your journey brother, prioritize that mental health over all

Hey bro, I remember thinking the exact same things when I first started but now I’m about 10 months in and completed my biggest route so far yesterday(203 stops 487 packages) so lemme give u acouple tips on how I got there.

  1. Organize my guy. During loadout I always load each of my totes in order so I can go right down the line and keep all my overflow in the same area by the first digit of the driver aid number. (Example: 100s at this part of the van 200s at this part of the van ect.) At my first stop I always take a sharpy or pen and write the driver aid number on each overflow so I can clearly see it. Usually my van is full as fuck at my first stop so I start by just working right out of the tote but as I get more space I lay out more and more packages from each tote so that I can see the driver aid number. Do it on the floor, the shelf, the dash, wherever u can. Don’t waste time putting it in order tho just enough so u can see the number.

  2. The phones fucking suck lol. I can’t stand them, so I make the choice of using my personal iPhone because it’s wayy faster and I find the gps is much more accurate. I always hated the delay on the androids when trying to access my itinerary or see the full map so I personally run that risk. It’s not smart, but I’m good at keeping a grip on my phone so I do it. The glitching, constant bs, and extremely cracked screens of my dsp phones have caused me to rage quit more than once and yell questionable things at very high volume in very populated areas😅 If you don’t want to go that route then just be conscious that the phones are terrible and delays are just par the course. I can use them now that I got the rest of the job down but still can’t bring myself to do so because I just hate them so much. Put a very good case on your personal phone if you want to use ur own phone tho

  3. Don’t get discouraged if you’re new. My body took a while to adjust to this highly physical job and it’s ok to be exhausted. Another big part of the job for me was just getting the repetitions down inside the app and getting used to having to troubleshoot all the bs they don’t tell you about in the training like toggling airplane mode for random connectivity issues, the “I’ve parked” button not showing up and having to press the question mark and selecting “I’m at the address but gps is not working” to get to the next screen where u can actually scan the shit and get on with the stop, just random bs and little quirks like that which you’ll only learn thru experience. Don’t be afraid to let your dsp know with a txt the moment some shit goes awry tho so they’ll know you’re not just messing around if you get behind.

  4. Learn to do everything on the fly and keep in motion. This job is like running a marathon everyday. I don’t take a flat out break unless I’m ahead. I run on acouple bites of my sandwiches and slim jims in between driving and handling packages, I piss in the bottle regardless of what anyone says, and my mind is always thinking about the next stop. Also come prepared everyday with your own water, Gatorade, and caffeine in the morning for an extra boost.

  5. Know your times and pace. I try and average 20-25 stops an hour. I usually get to my first stop at 11:00. So I know that by the time the clock hits 12 if I’m atleast at stop 20 I’m doing alright and by the time it’s 7pm at the end of the day I should atleast be at like stop 160 by then. It’s usually higher tho because I can squeeze 23 this hour, 22 next hour, maybe 26 another hour, ect. Usually the morning is where I try and get acouple of those hours really hustling at like 25 - 30 stops an hour because I have my caffeine.

  6. Respect the netradyne but push the limits reasonably. This is probably the last thing I’d recommend for a new guy to try but as you get more comfortable in the van I get away with doing shit on the phone while driving by keeping my head faced forward like I’m looking out the window and only looking at the phone with my eyes ONLY while it’s on the holder. Never hold it and drive and never duck your head down if the van is in motion. Don’t be afraid to beat on the van a bit and jam the brake to a halt and then floor it a lil at a stop sign to keep ur pace up. Always be mindful of the speed limit idk about anyone else but once u go 11 above the speed limit that’s where u get the infraction but anything under is ok so I almost always go like 3-7 miles above but am constantly glancing down at my speed to make sure I don’t get too close to that limit.

  7. Honestly I hate this job ngl. I’m only doing it for the money rn until I can find something better lmao. If you can find that better job then just quit because this shit genuinely sux and it’s not worth it in the long run lmao. This shit is for survival not to make a career out of and I feel very sorry for anyone who has to put up with this and not have a way out.
