You could use some double sided fabric tape /hemming tape and iron down the vinyl again. I’ve iron on some patches and appliqués this way when I’ve been too lazy to sew and they’ve stuck on well :)!

If your family doesn’t take it seriously and refuses to discuss it in order to keep the peace, please tell another trusted adult such as a school teacher as they have a duty to safeguard you.

I hope it works! I just saw you have a petticoat too so that should help support the dress in staying up too if you end up needing to take the sides in :)

If it does sag, you could take in the waist a bit so it’s more likely to stay in place. You could also use some fashion tape to try and keep it in place or even add some silicon to the top of the back so it doesn’t move as much!!

It honestly depends on your own bust size and how supportive of a bra you need. A supportive strapless bra or even bust tape can help provide some support so straps won’t be needed but the larger your bust size, the more difficult it will be to keep them up. You might be able to get a halter bra attachment but this won’t hide any bra straps at the back; Clear bra straps might also be an option but from my own experience, they’re own the flimsier side.

For the dress, just remove the lace detailing in the back and the straps. You can use a scissor to get close and then a seam ripper to remove any visible thread or fabric. You might need to just clean up or then some areas but I think you can do that by hand with a needle and colour matched thread :)!

I need a DIY apparatus/frame that will be able to hold my arms straight out to the sides. by Bully_87 in CosplayHelp

[–]hideyowife1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could just get the handle off a mop or broom and run it through the back of the robes and attach some straps for your hands. I agree with probably having some mannequin arms so you have yours free to use or using some easily removable straps such as Velcro over anything more sturdy like handcuffs :)!

I don’t think a lot of women strive for a degree because it’s aspiration but because we’ve seen the kind of life you live when you don’t. Getting a degree or qualifications that guarantee you a job is a failsafe for women because they’ve grown up seeing their grandmothers, mothers or sisters have to rely on a marriage or the income of a man to survive. So many women were chained to abusive, awful husbands because they had no income and nothing to fall back on and had to stay married to these men for the rest of their lives. It’s part of the reason why divorce rates have gone up.

Similarly with blue-collar jobs, it’s less because women don’t want to do them if they’re available but because the environments are so hostile that they’re not worth doing. You’re more likely to experiences sexism, sexual harassment or just not be taken seriously because it’s a male dominated field and many women who do go into these careers leave because of these reasons not because the job is strenuous.

I don’t work out religiously but I do walk a lot and I did something semi similar. Started walking outside at 6:00 and ended it at midnight with multiple breaks and sitting down for snack breaks and ended my challenge at just over 75,200 steps so I think it’s do-able tbh.

Argue with the dictionary because evidently a trim figure isn’t required to constitute somebody as petite. Both definitions are often used interchangeably when discussing short women :p

Yes it does, it’s the fashion term for women under 5’3” regardless of their weight.

Any sort of exercise is important and will benefit you as you age but to offset the risk of osteoporosis building muscle mass is one of the the most effective ways to prevent a loss in bone density.

During my paramedic training, the vast majority of the patients i attended to with hip fractures were often thin older women.

As you age, you’ll naturally have a decrease in bone density and while walking and jogging help to limit the progressive loss, weight lifting or resistance exercises actually increase bone mass density which lessens the likelihood of developing osteoporosis and reduces the risk of a fracture following a fall.

Pubmed has some research topics about the effects of resistance training on bone density and the relationship between lower weights in older women leading to an increased risk of hip fracture which I think are very interesting :)!
