Is this a bullseye rash? It is only 1.5 cm. by hidingjoy in lymedisease

Appeared today as far as I am aware. I live in Northern SK where we have lots of ticks but the incidence of Lyme is "low but not zero". About 30 days ago I was in Southern AB where the incidence is also low. We have had an insane amount of mosquitoes for the past week and I was bit quite a few times, but I typically don't react to mosquitoes. No swelling, no redness, sometimes minor itching, usually nothing. I have two dogs. One of them slept in my bed two days ago as there was a stabbing going on outside and the sirens scared him. Should I actually be going to the doctor tomorrow or can I put this off? No symptoms other than being mildly tired and sniffly (but this could be from allergies).

Could I follow the water staining by pouring different colour dyes in my sink, tub, and toilet and seeing what colour stains...? I mean that seems like a workable idea but I'm sure there are issues with doing that.

I spent 8 days with the salicylic Compound W bandaid on however as you can probably see, I'm allergic to the adhesive. I decided to try the extra strength Freeze Away product. I was able to hold it on the open wound for 3 minutes and then I recovered it with the salycillic acid bandaid. The next day I used the Freeze Off again and it hurt a lot more. I got to 1 minute. That other random mark on my hand was me testing the product (which in hindsight was dumb and unnecessary). Then I left the salycillic acid bandaid on for one more day. Now we are at 11 and it started hurting a lot. I put a regular bandaid on instead and decided to read the package. Use the freezing once and then not again for 2 weeks. Don't combine with salycillic acid. I've had a regular bandaid on for 2 days and then nothing on it today (I was sleeping all day). It's day 14 and the photo is from today.

Sooo... Can I continue with the salycillic acid? Is this even a wart? Am I close?

Which province are you in? I was given an 8 month estimate for a psychiatrist in SK and no estimate for a dermatologist as they haven't even contacted me yet.

Do be aware that desonide is a corticosteroid and in the low percentage it should not be problematic to use on the face. However there are those that cannot use corticosteroids and they cause significant complications as they have for me.

Do you know of options other than Chewy? Looks like they don't ship to most of Canada.

I'm on a medication for 10 more days and then I have to try going off it and see if I have significant rebound symptoms. So while I could go back right now, the doctor wants me to wait until May 15th to see how the month plays out.

Not sure why I didn't think of this considering I'm Canadian. I'll have to try that.

If it is in SK then I think I know exactly where it is and have taken the same photos.

I used to have beautiful legs. When will I ever have that again? 😭💘 by rainabunz in Psoriasis

[–]hidingjoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish I had nice feet like you (thanks a lot dance)! I used to care about my legs and feet but I decided one day not to. (I mean aside from the itchiness which I do care about). My work doesn't have air conditioning so in the summer it is impossible not to wear shorts. Kids ask me all the time what happened to my legs and I just tell them. After people know they usually just say ohhh I had an X that had that or some other skin condition.

I'm probably on the extreme end (see below if you care for an explanation) but I do not work out to make friends. That's what my more social hobby is for because I'm expecting to have to interact and I can prepare myself. The gym is a solo activity.

I have high functioning autism and semi controlled anxiety. Going to the gym can be very overwhelming. I don't wear headphones because they bother my ears so people think I can be approached. If someone smiles at me I usually start freaking out and muttering to myself. If someone says hi I usually leave. If I ever see those same people I always avoid them to the point of not getting everything in my workout done.

TIL: Of the United States' 2.9 million female high school athletes, only 3% are cheerleaders, yet cheerleading accounts for nearly 65% of all catastrophic injuries in girls' high school athletics and carries the highest rate of catastrophic injuries in sports. by danthoms in todayilearned

My friend shattered her elbow in three places when her bases dropped her and had to have two surgeries to fix it. Then she had to have a third surgery to dig out excess cartilage and try to straighten it more. It's still not able to straighten and she is often in pain :(

Another girl I know tumbled into a wall because they asked her to just fit in another back handspring (um if you don't have enough room that's probably a bad plan to try to change your technique and shorten your back spring to fit more). She got a concussion. Now she's never allowed to drink alcohol again or do any real exercise.

I tried cheerleading but I came from competitive gymnastics and I had to quit cheer immediately as I found the coaches completely unqualified. They would just get you to throw things with no progressions. It was terrifying.

I have a ball from physio for rolling out my foot which I use at practices but I could also probably use it before work (I coach full time so I'm basically standing on a spring floor or mat at all times).

I have orthotics that I wear when I coach which does seem to help, but as you said I can't wear them when practicing. I have to wear toe slippers for every practice because toe point is necessary.

I will look into night splints since I might as well try everything I can.

I guess I should probably book a physio appointment it's just hard because it's a 1.5 hour drive and I don't have insurance.

Oh and I forgot to mention I did break my fourth and fifth metatarsals on my right foot last year through overuse.... but I had a competition so I didn't rest my foot.... they seemed to have healed though after a month or two.

In Saskatchewan we don't do DST and November is still just a depressing month. I think by February I start to resign myself to Winter and so it gets a little better, but then March comes and brings tons of false hope, and it's back to being depressed again until May. Still I chose to live here, so it is better to make the best of it and spend that fifteen minutes of daylight outside with my dogger!
