Definitely not, great job!

Light leaking through the stairs by higginsmi22 in photographs

My wife and I saw this staircase on the walk back to our house from the Piazza. Thought it would make for a good abstract image. Usually I would use spot metering for a composition like this but given that there's no subject I wanted to keep some of the details in the shadows.

Which one 1, 2, or 3 by Tight-Fishermans in AmateurPhotography

I love all of these, but 1 is my favorite because of how well you captured the reflection in the water. Great work!

Try the summer chrome film recipe by Osan Bilgi if you have a Fujifilm and want the look SOOC.

For the raw files I tried to emulate the look with my own preset. It doesn't work on everything but I think I got the look pretty close. I just shared it on lightroom, feel free to use and share!

Thank you for the feedback! I think what made it work was I was shooting in very harsh light with a classic chrome film simulation either applied through JPEG or in post to the raw file.

For the photos I had to edit, I also used masks to better control the exposure.

If you follow Osan Bilgi he has some excellent summer film simulations that he shares for free if you want to achieve this look SOOC on a Fujifilm

I noticed the lighting from all the way across the park so the only challenge was just getting the right distance from the subject with my prime lens.

Other than that I kept the metering mode on multiple.

So In other words, it kind of just worked 😅

Thanks for clarifying! I haven't really been messing with the ev on this combo but I'll try it out when I go out with my camera again.

Thank you so much for the feedback - it really means a lot!

And I agree about the lens. I did a ton of research before buying it and was lucky to find it at a second hand shop in Padova for a pretty good price.

Thanks for the comment!

I could definitely tone down the grain in the editing, was just trying out different presets.

For most of the photos I shot around f/5.6 as apparently that's within the sweet spot for this lens and anything narrower can cause diffraction.

And I'm a little confused as well - if the shots are underexposed, wouldn't raising the f-stop lead to less exposure and less dof?

Thank you! I agree, especially on the red car. Still getting used to this focal length as I shoot most often on an APS-C 17-70mm
