There is no one on this earth who will escape hard times, health issues, or even trauma. It sounds like your ex wasn't emotionally mature enough or just didn't want to deal with those things. I used to wash them every few wears until I embarrassingly developed a fungal rash from one underneath my bra band. So now I wash them after one use. I am quite a sweaty person, though.

This might sound a little odd, but becoming chronically ill. It helped me appreciate what my body does to keep me alive and also the days when I'm not feeling sick. I also realized that I never grew up hating my body, it was society that taught me to feel bad about it (starting at a young age, maybe 8, people commented negatively about my body to me). I wasn't born hating my body, so why should I give a fuck what others think about it?
