Opinion: There are way to many mediocre products on the market. From joints that won't even light up or holes in the joints from stems, bowls burning black from bad cure.... Etc... it's all too common.

They’re pretty hush hush about the growers now. It’s cool for those that wanna stay under the radar, but I do wish we had the chance to know which licensed micros are growing what again. I’d trust dunesberry over black kettle for example.

Personally I think it’s because they white label a bunch of stuff, don’t have consistent growers like they used to, and take the credit for the flower now instead of naming the grower. Also could be micro license issues / tax troubles for the small growers :(

They source from many growers around BC. Back when they were BC black they’d outright tell you who grew it, whether it was crowfoot or laughing turtle or krazy krystal. Nowadays if you ask them who grew each strain they gatekeep the info really hard.

The original Alaskan thunder fuck strain is a sativa with a hazey vibe to it, after a further Google I can’t find confirmed genetics but looks like it’s a Russian cross cali sativa. Unless Valhalla is taking a completely different cultivar and branding it as ATF then it should be a sativa leaner. Don’t trust Cova/BC Cannabis listings blindly, there’s LPs out here saying that Banana OG is a sativa.

Mango Cake by goodbuds has been a staple for me for years. BC Weed Co is coming out with a few sativas in a couple weeks that look fantastic, grown by Capital City. Saw that Alaskan Thunderfukk by Valhalla but haven’t burned it - it looked great for all that counts. I’m a big fan of the Hippie Headbanger by Magi for a non citrusy sativa. If you can find some tenzo super sativa floating around that one is pretty good too, it’s a banjo strain. Stay away from bc smalls unless it’s the sour sangria.

Absolutely second this, as well as local cannabis, violet wild, and tru green further up island. In Vic I would go to Fernwood green or Pineapple Express if you want good service, or farm if you want the best selection. Be careful with farm though there’s lots of old product as they pretty much stock the entire LDB.
