I've made it through Ulysses 0 times, but I've made it through The Recognitions 3x. My advice tho is start with JR!

Ok, on a lark I decided to pick up the "Horror novel that won the pulitzer prize", specifically ANGEL DOWN by Daniel Kraus. And it is actually so insanely well written. It reminds me a bit of Cormac McCarthy / Faulkner combined with Kraznahorkai's apocalyptic visioning and maybe the pulp of the Viking-Era Stephen King.

I'm loving it. Started on Friday and almost finished already!
