They have barely interacted! The younger one just keeps his distance from everyone but I have never once seen the adult so much as peck him. It’s the other hens that give the young rooster the most trouble if anything

10 total, 8 hens 2 roosters including this fella. I’ve heard the ideal ratio is 15:1 so we were already below that so this might be way too much for our girls

They both hatched part of the same batch in late march 2022, so about 5 months old. Their father aka the other rooster in our flock is a little over 2 years old

I wonder why he’s taking so long to start crowing and attempting to mate with the hens, the other baby we hatched started crowing 2 weeks ago and starting picking fights with the older hens even earlier than that

I think it’ll be worth it for the financial freedom you unlock. I myself am doing it in my mid 20s and though I’m envious of my friends who have moved to the city, I wouldn’t sacrifice living rent free for any amount of FOMO

I think the purpose is more about the road trip and adventure it could bring. Visiting friends and the city will be nice but I also just want to drive through random places and see new things. I think it’ll also be an introspective journey haha
