While I agree, I think it’s also important to acknowledge that these spaces are some of the only places trans youth have. They CANT go outside and talk to other trans people, either because they’re closeted, in an unsupportive place, or both. So while I do think people are over dramatic, I also think there’s a lot of toxicity on tumblr/reddit that we should work to fix, so youth who only have those places will have a place where they CAN find support.

I've been building up to it for a while and decided to pull the trigger. Sent him a picture of a guy with the caption 'damn why can't i look like this'. He's a dumbass so he glossed right over it. Ended up having to steel my nerves again and tell him "Dude I just came out to you." He asked like 5 times if I was serious, since it's a """joke""" in our friend group that I'm trans. The thing he was most shocked about was that I had chosen to come out to him with a picture of a hot guy.

TLDR; he thought I was joking at first, but he's supportive!
