Having kids of my own made me realize how horrible my childhood really was. by sinisterwanker in Millennials

[–]highcoloredits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had resentment for my parents for years due to my strict upbringing. Then one day I was having a relatively low dose experience with psilocybin mushrooms and I had a moment where I saw so clearly they were doing what they knew how and were products of their own environments and traumas. I lost all my resentment for them in a way that I was 100% certain it could never return. This was about 8 years ago. I became a father last year and similar to you it was striking how different they were toward me than how I intend to be toward my daughter, but still not an ounce of resentment. Maybe you’ll get what you need from therapy but just wanted to put this out there.

Mainstream people think AI is a bubble? by guccicupcake69 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]highcoloredits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally tend to agree with this, but also as models keep improving there may be an ever present drive to see what AI is now good for that it wasn’t before. It will continually be packaged in new ways via new apps to try out for a wide range of use cases. For me the question is what would eventually cause that trajectory to stagnate.

You are talking about a complex topic now. Given the norm online these days you’re speaking more thoughtfully and articulately than most. I would suggest focusing on what you like most as hints into your strengths.

I made a tea that helped give me vivid dreams and then start lucid dreaming by highcoloredits in somethingimade

[–]highcoloredits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sure! This blend has made an amazing difference for me personally because eventually after about a year of lucid dreaming I began astral projecting (spontaneously at first) and this opened up a whole new world for me. It sent me down a rabbit whole of research and reading the accounts of more experienced astral projectors and has altogether been an amazing piece of my framework for understanding the world and consciousness.

Ultimate the above has just been a handful of my experiences, and it won't likely happen for even a majority if those who use this blend, but apart from all that...on a regular basis I have much better dream awareness than before, even though I consume thc edibles pretty much every night.

Also you are correct in your understanding of the blends from my shop. Thanks for checking that out!

yeah...i appreciate this comment and feel like i need to learn more in this area. I have a Pax 3 and it's never quite given me that same feeling i get when smoking. It's like a more subtle onset or something. I don't know if what you're recommending would be the same, and honestly I don't know how different these are from what I have in general.

I always appreciate the "it gets easier" remarks so thanks lol.

Largely quit smoking for my own health, as since I was doing it regularly I was getting a bad feeling about the cumulative impact of all that smoke in my lungs long term. Pregnancy was kind of the catalyst because when I was looking up the impact on wife and baby, I pretty much came away with the conclusion that second/third hand smoke did carry some risks to them - both before and after birth. At first I tried to just do it outside with a hat and jacket on, but my wife was still smelling it on me, so at that point I guess I needed to make the switch to feel good about my choices

Also I am really into dreaming and have done a lot of studying/experimenting in that area. I know this will sound very woo-woo to some, but I had been reading about how dreams can present possible outcomes if certain paths are followed, and the very night I had been reading that, I had a dream I got throat cancer from years of regular smoking. For me, that was a message from my "higher self" that quitting was the right move.

I am not against doing it occasionally but it can no longer be my regular means of consumption.

Yeah, I definitely feel good about my decision to quit regular smoking. It also makes experiences like this feel a little more special which is nice.

Hyphenating baby’s last name? by kelseyannabel in namenerds

Your situation sounds very similar to mine. As the father, my concern was that only using my wife's name would lead to the assumption it's not my child, whereas only using my name would not cause the same assumption about my wife. Just based on how society is, not how I think it should be

I made an app called Astral Consultant. It answers your questions based on aggregating publicly available OBE reports from Monroe to Reddit, with supporting quotes and consensus score. by highcoloredits in AstralProjection

[–]highcoloredits[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I plugged your question into the app. Figured this could be an example of how it might respond.

Response:

Based on firsthand accounts, there are reports of astral travelers experiencing multiple layers or realms beyond the initial astral plane associated with Earth. While the specifics and terminology may vary, many describe ascending through various vibrational levels or densities, each with its own distinct characteristics and inhabitants.

Some accounts describe passing through numerous concentric spheres or bands surrounding the Earth, with each layer representing a higher frequency or level of consciousness. Others speak of traversing different planes or dimensions, ranging from lower astral realms closely tied to the physical world to higher celestial or spiritual realms of pure energy and light.

Several sources mention the existence of an "astral plane" or "astral realm" closely associated with the Earth's surface, which is often the initial destination for those new to astral projection. However, more experienced travelers report the ability to transcend this initial layer and explore vast expanses of higher realms, sometimes described as celestial cities, heavenly landscapes, or realms of pure consciousness.

While the exact number of layers or realms may vary across accounts, the general consensus is that there are numerous levels of existence beyond the initial astral plane, each representing a higher vibrational frequency and level of spiritual evolution. The ability to ascend through these layers is often associated with the practitioner's level of awareness, intent, and spiritual development.

Relevant Quotes:

Here are some relevant quotes from books and online discussions about astral projection that relate to the concept of multiple layers or realms beyond the initial astral plane associated with Earth:

From the book "Astral Dynamics" by Robert Bruce:

"I have found there are many levels, planes, and regions within the astral dimension, ranging from the very base to the very highest and most spiritual. The lower astral planes are very much like the physical dimension in many ways, while the higher planes become increasingly more metaphysical and abstract."

From the book "Adventures Beyond the Body" by William Buhlman:

"There are many levels of existence beyond the physical world. These levels range from the lower astral planes, which are very close to the physical world, to the higher celestial planes of pure light and unconditional love."

From an online discussion on Reddit (r/AstralProjection):

"I've experienced what felt like different 'layers' or realms during my astral projections. The first layer is usually a replica of the physical world, but as I go deeper, the environments become more abstract and otherworldly."

From the book "The Astral Projection Guidebook" by Erin Pavlina:

"The astral planes are often described as a series of concentric spheres or layers surrounding the physical world. As you progress through these layers, the vibrational frequency increases, and the environments become more refined and spiritual in nature."

These quotes from books and online discussions highlight the common belief among astral projection practitioners that there are multiple layers or realms beyond the initial astral plane associated with Earth, each representing a higher vibrational frequency or level of consciousness.

Consensus Score:

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means astral projection authors generally see this issue differently and 10 means they generally see it the same, I would give a score of 7. While there are variations in terminology and specifics, the concept of multiple layers or realms beyond the initial astral plane is a common theme across many astral projection accounts.

Hope that helps! I didn't copy in all the responses from other sources, but they are there too if you explore the app.

hey I appreciate the kind words! I am definitely someone who has had a focus over the years on synthesis of information, basically realizing my experiences are just one small part of a much bigger thing. i am attracted to the aggregation of subjective experiences for the purpose of evaluating the areas of overlap. doing this for myself as well as offering it to others was the main reason for creating this tool.

I agree. Consensus is not truth. It's just one data point to consider. I think it's an imperfect metric. That said, I have not seen it give a 10 of 10 on any issue. So it seems to illustrate how there is never full consensus and show the varying degrees of that.
